The American Interest
The journal The American Interest analyzes Ameri-ca’s conduct on the global stage and the orces thatshape it, examines what American policy should be,
and invites citizens o all nations into the American national dia-logue. This enterprise begins a “discourse characterized by mutualrespect, humility and passion or useul truths,” qualities that have
always characterized the work o this important thinker.
America at the Crossroads
With his new book, America at the Crossroads, plus an importantsummary article that appeared in The New York Times Magazine
and the launch o The American Interest , one o America’s mostimportant political intellectuals takes the lead again in a new
dialog about our uture. We stand at a crossroads. Behind us liethe ailures o the Iraq war and the misinterpretations o neocon-servative political thought that the Bush administration relied on.Ahead lie all the problems o unintended consequences and anopportunity to redefne American oreign policy. Francis Fukuyamaoers a valuable history o the ideas, people and actions that havebrought us to this intersection and new ideas about how to relateto the rest o the world.
