    FSAENewRequest

    We require that your FSAE team designate a member of the university staff as Central Contact. It isrecommended that this is the Faculty Advisor to the FSAE team; otherwise another professor within thedepartment or an IT administrator is acceptable.

    The responsibilities of the Central Contact are as follows:

    Primary contact for communication with Ricardo Software, whether administrative or technical.

    Arranging execution of a Master License Agreement (MLA) with Ricardo Software. This MLA is alegal document stating proper usage of the software and any restrictions.

    Execution of the annual FSAE Grant renewal form.

    Receive the software license as well as the instructions for download and installation, or provide theappropriate IT contact.

    o 5 seats of each tool are provided. These are hosted from a license server of your choice.They cannot be checked out" (i.e. laptops taken home for the evening, off-site use requiresVPN access to the license server), nor can they be installed on multiple servers. If youchoose to install the license manager on a FSAE laptop, then you can travel with thesoftware, but all 5 licenses travel with it as well.

    o Under the terms of the FSAE Grant, the five licenses provided should only be used for FSAEteam projects. The licenses are not to be used for non-FSAE team projects, research orclassroom teaching (separate grants are required).

    Answer technical support questions from the FSAE team, contacting Ricardo Softwares supportteam if needed (10 hours of technical support is provided). Questions from individual team membersreceived by Ricardo Software will not be answered. If preferred, we can assign the FSAE TeamLeader as the Technical Support contact.

    In order to participate in the FSAE team Grant, we specify that two Ricardo logos c. 195 [mm] x 130 [mm] areto appear either side of the vehicle in a visible and prominent location and must appear within a clear space

    of approximately 40 [mm] around the perimeter of the logo graphic. If pre-existing sponsorship commitmentsprevent this, alternative positioning may be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. Logos should appear on allcompetition vehicles entered in the competition by the licensee within the season that the license operates.

    If you would like to use WAVE, and other tools, please ask your Central Contact to complete and return theattached Grant Request Form to [email protected]. We will mail (through the post) a copy of theMLA for review, execution, and return. Upon receipt of the executed MLA, we will send the annual license.In order for your team to start using WAVE as soon as possible, on return of the grant form, we will also sendthe Central Contact a short-term license file, as well as a secure login to our website to download thesoftware. At this point, your team will be able to start using the software.

    Central Contact Must be a faculty member or IT administrator

    Acts as Ricardos single point of contact over the duration of the license. The central contact is responsible forupholding all terms detailed in the master license agreement, and shall be held fully responsible as the representativeof the university in the event that the master license agreement is violated. This person is also responsible to manageany technical communications regarding use and/or application of Ricardo software; and to manage installation andmaintenance of the license manager software and software codes detailed below.
