CENTRAL NEW YORK THIS WINTER!
There’s BIG fun in a Central NY Winter Vacation! Glistening hills and pristine trails offer fun in the great outdoors. Woods Valley in Westernville has fantastic runs for downhill skiing and a cozy lodge. Utica's Val Bialas offers a unique opportunity to ski and snowboard within city
limits. Visit the Utica Zoo on snowshoes for a whole new experience!
Cross-country skiers and snowmobilers find easy gliding at Osceola Tug Hill in the Snowbelt. Lake-effect snow covers the Tug Hill Plateau with an annual average of 300 inches! Winter visitors to Glimmerglass State Park, near Cooperstown, enjoy snowtubing, ice-skating and ice-fishing as well as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Families can board the historic Adirondack Scenic Railroad at Utica’s Union Station for Polar Express rides, weekends from November 16 to December 22. The Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley Railroad runs their Holiday Trains weekends in December.
In Cooperstown, experience 19th-century rural village life with festive events at The Farmers’ Museum. In Feb-ruary the Cooperstown Winter Carnival celebrates with cool activities, a grand parade and fireworks. Indoors, there’s a wide variety of attractions. For family fun, explore the Discovery Center, a hands-on children’s museum. Explore world-famous attractions like Howe Caverns and Cooperstown’s National Baseball Hall of Fame. The Route 20 Scenic Byway highlights roadside Americana and leads to quaint villages, country inns, an-
tique galleries and charming shops—all decked out for the season!
Once the hops-growing capital of North America, the region now boasts award-winning breweries. Some tasteful sites along the Cooperstown Beverage Trail include Brewery Ommegang, Cooperstown Brewing Company, But-ternuts Beer & Ale and Bear Pond Winery.
Along with exciting gaming and superb dining, Turning Stone Resort & Casino presents a season of classic
headline entertainment and the world-class spa draws upon ancient American Indian traditions.
