Despite favourable feedback from partici- pants, the second year of the lottery saw a drop in participation from out-of- province residents. RFM president, Ken Cameron, feels this was due largely in part to Manitoba Lotter- ies Commission restricting their 1-800 number ac- cess to Manitoba callers. A great many participants of last year’s lottery were residents of Saskatchewan and do not have access to a Manitoba phone line. Local ticket sales also de- creased by half.
