    he Erickson Elemen-tary School Parent`sAdvisory Council (PAC)recently held a raf e toraise unds or their group.Since November 2011,the group sold roughly2,000 tickets or a silver2012 Ford Focus SE. Only4,000 tickets were avail-

    able selling or $20.00

    each or three or $50.00.On Friday, April 20th, thedraw was made with JillPearns o Brandon beingthe lucky winner.

    Pearns was surprisedto receive a phone call tosay she had won the car.She was very happy thather name was drawn andsaid I very rarely win. Teonly thing I have ever won

    Te o cial grandprize presentation wasmade at Kelleher Ford inBrandon Monday morn-ing, April 30th. Pearnsdoes not plan to keepthe car and instead, sheis trading it o or a newFord Escape.

    Kelleher Ford inBrandon generously gavethe Erickson Elemen-

    tary PAC a discount on

    the car whose retail valueis $23,000. Fundraisingchair, Leslie Woywada-Roesch, said that thegroup raised $12,000rom the undraiser. Teunds will go towards newplayground equipmentat Erickson ElementarySchool which PAC stillhas $20,000 to raise beorereaching its target.

    Greyhound has recent-ly announced that itis dropping 12 bus routesand reducing others inManitoba starting July 1st.

    T ree routes that makestops in Minnedosa will becancelled once the chang-es take eect. Te cancel-lations are the YorktonWinnipeg route whichmakes a stop in Minnedo-sa at 5:20 a.m., Winnipeg-

    Yorkton which stops inMinnedosa at 12:45 p.m.,and Winnipeg-Brandonstopping in Minnedosa at9:25 p.m. Routes remain-ing that service Minnedosa

    will be the 5:50 p.m. stopwhich runs rom Yorkton-

    Winnipeg and the Winni-peg-Yorkton route whicharrives in Minnedosa at10:45 p.m.

    Provincial o cialshave said that they arecon dent that smaller,independent transporta-tion providers will step upto take over the smallerroutes aected. Minnedo-sas Greyhound DepotManager, Lauri Ludwig,also expects that this willhappen.
