he 2012 f nancial plan or the own o Minnedo-sa has increased $76,358.83 over last year to sit at

$4,099,974.46. Te Net Municipal axes and Grants in Lieuo axes are budgeted with an amount o $2,537,850.47,an increase o $45,860.54 over last year.

Te town has set an increase o 3% in taxes. Te mu-nicipal portion increased 2.37% and the school taxes in-creased 4.3%.

Te big impact on taxes this year is because it wasa reassessment year in which all properties are based on April 1st, 2010 market values, s tated own ACAO Chris Yuen.

Tere has been a shi t in assessment between com-mercial and residential properties. Residential propertiesreceived an average increasein assessment o roughly 25% while the commercialproperties received an aver-age increase in assessment o roughly 2%. Tis means thatthere is a slightly larger bur-den o total tax revenue to theresidential class.Everyone will be a ected, but some will see their taxesincrease more than others. Yuen sa id, Everyone will seedi erent increases on theirtaxes, based on how much their assessment has in-creased rom this year compared to last year.

Properties with a higher percentage assessmentincrease rom 2011 to 2012 will receive a larger grossamount increase on their tax bill as compared to simi-larly assessed properties with a lower percentage assess-ments increase.Mayor Ray Orr said o the budget, We had to come

up with a certain number o dollars to operate the townsoperations, capital programs, etc..; to come up with thosedollars, it was necessary or us to have this increase. In the f nancial plan, ransportation Services in-

    creased $142,080.00 to $840,580.00.
