Web Sitewww.ejil.org. The web site is an integral part of the Journal and provides full online access to issues, with the exception of the current year for which abstracts are available. Visit EJIL’s blog at www.ejiltalk.org.Submission of ManuscriptsThe EJIL uses an online submission system: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ejil. Manuscripts submitted by other means will not be accepted for evaluation.

Submissions should be accompanied by an assurance that the article has not been published, submitted, or accepted elsewhere. Articles accepted for publication may be subsequently published elsewhere in print form without any delay. However, authors are required to refrain from publishing their article electronically for 12 months after publication. Manuscripts should normally range from 6,000 to 12,000 words in length, including footnotes. Authors are requested to consult and follow the Journal’s style-sheet. The Journal encourages authors to refer to research material published not only in English but also in other languages. The EJIL is a peer-reviewed journal. All manuscripts received are evaluated by our Editor-in-Chief or one other member of the Editorial Board and by one or two anonymous external referees. Notifi cation of acceptance, rejection or need for revision will generally be given within 10 weeks of receipt of the manuscript, although exceptions to this time frame may occur. Our evaluation process takes account of several criteria. Excellence is a necessary condition for publication, but it is not always a suffi cient condition. The need for a balance of topics, the Journal’s particular areas of interest which may change over time, the fact that something similar has already been commissioned, etc., may also infl uence the fi nal decision. Therefore, a rejection does not necessarily refl ect upon the quality of a piece. Complete instructions for manuscript submission can be found at http://www.ejil.org/about/manuscripts.php.Cover images: Cityscape II. M.S.
