The Opportunity

As a member of the Research & Development team, in this full-time role you will use your experience and coding skills to develop new and existing applications for our internal and external clients in the financial payments industry. Responsibilities

• Participate in Functional Requirements Document (FRD) analysis and reviews • Utilize any special programming techniques necessary to achieve the most effective solutions • Architect and design new applications • Develop new applications based on business and functional requirements • Modify existing software to conform to system changes or to make improvements in the existing

software • Monitor performance of solutions after implementation • Identify opportunities to improve design, development, and testing process • Demonstrate understanding of the business needs driving projects

Accountabilities

• Use industry experience and coding skills to help develop new and exciting applications for both internal and external clients in the E-Commerce & Financial industry

• Develop new applications based on requirements • Analyze and develop system enhancements and/or maintenance items using the target

programming languages to update the individual application modules based on feedback from the team assigned to the project

• Develop system design and specification documents based on functional business requirements Professional Requirements

• Post-secondary degree or diploma with a focus on software development • Experience across multiple OS: Windows, Unix & Linux • Demonstrated experience in development skills in the following areas of expertise:

o Multi-thread programming and available tools and APIs o Working knowledge of MS/SQL and dataset structures o Experience with Struts Framework for Web development o Some knowledge of MVC design concept o Eclipse (IDE) as a Java development Tool o Knowledge of repositories as a source and version control tool (check-in check-out

commit) o Experience with DB tool (i.e. Toad DB GUI tool for manipulation of DB) o Knowledge of Hibernate DB framework programming vs Native JDBC o Experience with Data modelling tools, Tomcat/JBoss, Server programming o Experiences with Web programming tools and frameworks (Client/Server)

Experience

• Workplace experience in IT with strong technical capabilities • Previous experience with banking business processes, or in a payment services environment
