To start with my Front Cover, I used an original photograph of my sister. I loaded the image in to Photoshop, and using the levels, I altered the background colour, to make her stand out. This is effective because it draws attention towards her so she is noticeable. I then used the levels again but for my sister. This time however, I highlighted the image. By doing this, it makes her seem brighter and more outgoing.

I went on to add a mast head for my magazine. I chose the title “processed beats” because it relates to music and it suggests the all of the music has been thoroughly thought through and have been produced to their best standard.

I edited the Masthead into a new position. This was so that it was more noticeable on the front cover, and makes it easily identifiable against the background. This is important because the reader has to be able to identify the magazine.

I added a footer to the front cover of the magazine. This was so that the reader could identify some of the bands and artists that are going to be featured in the magazine.

All magazines have a barcode. This is so the reader can see how much the magazine is and what issue it is. Therefore, I added my own barcode to the magazine so that my readers knew how much the magazine is.

I added a Slogan to my front cover advertising another main article. I did this so that it shows there is more than one article inside the magazine.

I also added a sell-line for the main image, showing who that person is. I made it so that it is the second biggest text on the cover. This was so it stood out against the rest of the cover.

I decided that the background for the image was not conventional, and so I changed it to a picture of a brick wall. This fits in with the theme and makes the main image stand out.

I changed the levels on the background as well so that the main image stood out even more.

I added another image on to the page to show who is being advertised in the other slogan. By doing this, it adds more to the cover and makes it seem more interesting.

People found that the main slogan was not legible and so I added a back to it too make it stand out and seem like it has a border.

I found that the background to my image was too plain and dull, making the whole cover seem uninteresting. I altered the levels again to make the whole cover seem a lot brighter and stand out more. However by doing this it meant that the masthead was hard to read so I inverted the font.

I added some final slogans to my cover to add more interest giving some details as to what is going to be inside the magazine.I also deleted the other image because I found that it was drawing attention away from the main image, and it seem as though it was pushing the image off the page.
