Front cover analysis The image of the artist is based as the main image as well as the background, the use of a young pretty female artist goes with the target audience being young females easily swayed towards role model, using this artist she is portrayed as a role model towards these young female audience. The magazine catches the attention of the readers straight away due to the ‘ busyness’ of the magazine as well as all the colours clashing with each other for example the artist is wearing a deep blue which clashes with the girl purple which catches the target audiences eyes. We see the masthead clearly displayed, this shows how iconic it is as it is easily recognised, giving the readers trust within the magazine and being able to associate it with the appropriate genre and type of target audience. As well as the font being edgy and girly in which attracts the audience as well s still being readable and visually appealing. As we see at the bottom of the page we see various smaller images in which attract the girls due to them being boys as well as the appealing line of ‘ 7 sizzling posters’ this attracts and draws the reader in to buy the magazine for the posters. As This front cover is less clutter than the old top of the pops it has a clear layout of a banner as well as the puff and little images to go with the articles however has a lack of sell lines this allows it to look less cluttered and appeal to a much higher target audience rather than just young girls. The sell line on top of the mast head is always drawing the audience to the magazine it always offers some sort of advice or prize to be won, however never give too much away which bugs the reader leaving them wanting to buy it to see the advice or goodie. By linking the puff and the main image it gives greater appeal to the reader to buy the magazine as the puff is the first thing in which grabs the attention of the reader after realising who the artist is, linking these together makes the reader want to know what the puff is trying to let us know and what the secrets and articles is going to expose which teases the target audience to buy the magazine. The font is a size in which you can realise there is writing at a glance however cannot clearly state what it says this is a clever way in which to get the reader to focus on what is written which draws attention to the writing and furthermore what
