This is just a quick note to tell you that your station could be heard loud and clear tonight (16 NOV 2003) around 22:OO your time in Clemson, South Carolina. Actually, it was one of the strongest stations I could receive tonight. I listened to Drudge Radio Live on your station instead of the usual 1110 WBT in Charlotte, NC (which was not clear at all).
Thank you for the good job you're doing out there. I enjoyed the chance to hear some local flavor from Texas.

Dear Mark and Friends:
Thank you so much for giving computers, monitors, printers, software and other items to Mission ArlingtonlMission Metroplex. The computer equipment you donated will help many families with school-age children all over our community.
Thousands of children participate in the After-School programs sponsored by Mission Arlington, getting help with their homework and doing other fun and educational activities. These programs have provided such an opportunity for us to give kids a chance to excel in school. We look forward to seeing the excitement on the faces of the students as we give them computers to take home as well as set up computer labs they can use in the apartment complexes where they live. Because you have given, you will help us provide for them.
partnership and support are appreciated. Thank you again for giving to us in this special way. Your

Hi Neal-I live near Portland, Oregon. Last night, I heard WBAP around 3am PST.
Up until now, KGO (810 AM/San Francisco) has boomed in so strong, I suspect it prevented me from ever hearing WBAP. But lately, their signal has degraded up in Oregon.
Is it possible for other signals to defuse KGO whilst making room for WBAP? I t ' s exciting, as yours is the first "W" Call sign I've ever received on my Panasonic RF2900 receiver.
I'd love to hear if others near Oregon have been able to pick up your signal. Thanks!

Just to let you know, I am interested in distant AM-Broadcast band radio listening. I can hear your station quite strongly in Cincinnati, OH over the air. Your station is the only one that I have heard that is located west of the MiSsissippi River. I have heard this station several times now. Just thought you would like to know the coverage of your stat i o n .

Radio Station KSCS ATN: Chief Engineer Arlington, TX 76006
Dear KSCS,
CDT on 96.3 MHz. I noted the following program details: 3.18PM- At tune in, male announcer mentioning “96 3 KSCS”, then C&W song “Not A Moment To Soon”. 3.21 PM- Male DJ mentioned “...Buddy Jewel, 96 3 KSCS the best Country .. .. ”, then more Country music. 3.25PM- Station promo for the ‘Artist of the Day“, mentioned the “Dorsey Gang” and a chance to win $96.00 by being caller #15. followed by a commercial for Slim Fast Diet program. Signal was lost shortly aftelward.
I was quite thrilled to hear your station and in fact, yours was only my second “DX” station I have heard on the FM band! I have been an avid radio enthusiast since 1978 with my interest being in the AM broadcast band and on the shortwave frequencies. This reception occurred while I was driving home from work and my local station on 97.1 started to fade in and out- I tuned down a couple of steps on the radio and heard your signal mixing with another unidentified station, with your signal being like a local for the duration1 I have always heard about ”summertime” listening on the FM band and certainly look forward to possibly hearing you again. Anyhow. keep up the great work and 1’11 be listening!! I would very much appreciate it if you could check my report and if correct, please
verify it by a brief letter of confirmation. Sincerely thanking you and wishing you continued success, I am,
I am pleased to report reception of your station on June 24,2003 from 3.18PM-3.25PM

Dear Sirs,
of the city of ALBUQUERQUE,NM on a DRAKE SW 8 shortwave receiver with a 60 ft. longwire antenna [ east west orientation ] This transmission was taped on a small cassette recorder, patched into the SW 8
receiver [ without any additional amplifiers or signal enhancers ] and this enables you to hear the broadcast as it was received at the time of the recording.
There may be some noticable intermittent “breaks” during this recording as I am making sure the audio levels are not too high or low, assuring an accurately as possible recording without altering the original signal in any way or form.
Due to the unpredictable nature of propagation and other variables it may not be possible to receive and record the best or optimal signa1,however I do try to DX when conditions and time permit. I have been in the radio hobby since 1992 and enjoy AM DXing and monitoring
AVIATION comms via the shortwave or on the UHF 1 VHF frequencies. I like to collect radio station stickers and anything related to civil and military
aviation, patches, postcards, posters and attend airshows whenever possi blel My collection of radios include but is not limited to: DRAKE SW8 shortwave receiver RADIO SHACK DX 390 portable SW receiver RADIO SHACK DX 351 “shirtpocket” AM I FM I SW handheld RADIO SHACK PRO 2006 base scanner RADIO SHACK PRO 26 handheld scanner UNIDEN “GRANT” AM I SBB CB tranceiver

Just thought I'd let you know that as I was in my spa about an hour ago under the open sky, your station and signal was loud and clear in South Bend, IN on the radio side of the little B&W TV set I was using as I relaxed.
If it were later in the summer and I was listening to FM, I would think that there must have been a bit of "ducting" that allowed me to hear you. Evidently the angle of transmission was just right. I enjoyed listening.

I want to thank you for all of the friendship and support that you have given The Vocal Majority Chorus in the past several months.
I have been a member of the chorus for several years, and from time to time a benefactor comes along and helps us. But I have observed no one as helpful to us as you have been in the past several months.
Beginning with your financial and advertising support for the Christmas CD last year, the unbelievably memorable concert at the Bass Hall on September 19", and the concert in Denton on the 13" with its associated advertising ... all these things have been very helpful to us.
I will never forget on September 19", when the entire audience was standing, holding hands and singing God Bless America. Wow, what a memory. It was more than generous of you to mention our Christmas concerts in Dallas and Fort Worth as you were advertising your own concert with Denton. I know that your gift of all of that free advertising is what resulted in virtually sold out performances in all three cities. Thank you very much.
I looked for someone to thank after the Denton concert, with no success. So I am sending this letter, and hope that it finds the appropriate people.
Thank you again You have been a great friend and benefactor to us.

Dear Becky:
You are such a dear, ... with a breath, heart, and soothing voice transcending Monday's tragic loss of John LaBella. I was so encouraged with your Tuesday morning broadcast, and the delicate resolve to understand and acknowledge John's life.
When I first joined Belo, the "Rody and LaBella" progressive cacophony was "rock"-eting at KZEW. Of course, the conservative powers at the time, including the Dealey, Decherd and Moroney families were, to say the least, concerned and slack-jawed!
Gosh, ... he was both brilliant and dynamic. John would have succeeded at virtually everything. He chose the radio dimension and we are all better f o r it.
Prayerfully,

Dear Friends, J% I am a radio c munications hobbyist, with a special interest in reception of unusual or long-
distance radio sig I have just had the pleasure of hearing a broadcast of KMEO on 96.7 MHz
TV and FM signals are sometimes heard due to "Sporadic E-skip" conditions, whereby distant signals 700-1400 miles away wil l surge in for a few minutes at a time by reflecting back off the E-layer of the atmosphere instead o f heading off into space. The phenomenon usually Occurs in May, June and July. On this particular afternoon, I noted stations from Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.

Other stations in the Dollas area were coming in during this same time, KLLI, KRBV, KESS, WRR. and KLUV.
I am sorry for the lack of additional details, but this was all that I could hear during the brief time that your signal 'skipped" t o Upstate New York. I f my report is correct, I am hopeful that you could provide a written verification of my reception, noting the time, date and frequency. This may seem like an unusual request, but I belong t o an FM & TV hobby club that places great importance upon written proofs o f reception in measuring the listening achievements of its members. Thank you for giving my request your consideration. I enclose return postage t o facilitate your response. A prepared verification card is also enclosed for your use. I shall look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes in your broadcasting endeavors!

It is really nice to write to you. I am a 36-year-old medical doctor of University Hospital here in Sendai, Japan, and specializing in gastroenterology. This reception was made during my winter vacation in Houston area. After staying in Houston, I went to New York. It is a real fun to escape from busy days at the Hospital. However, the weather was cool, cool, and cool, due to the winter storm hit Northeastern States. I was captured more than five hours in a Continental Airlines flight at the Newark airport. Because I stayed most of the days in my hotel room, I could tune in to a lot of radio stations. I was overwhelmed that there are so many radio stations in the States, because we have only approximately 100 AM & FM stations all over Japan. Even in our capital city Tokyo, we have only five Ah4 and three FM stations. Less stations mean less variety of programing ... You may be surprised to know that there is no religious stations here in Japan. There is no real news/talk radio station like WBAP there is no sports-only radio station ... Anyway, I was impressed with your all news/taLk programing, and am glad to tell you that WBAP made my stay relaxed and enjoyable one.
My hometown, Sendai, is located about 200 miles north of Tokyo. It has more than one million people of population and the second largest city in the northern Japan. In spite of such a large population, natural beauty remains in the most part of the city and often called "The City of Evergreen".
I would like a verification (QSL) card or letter confirming my reception of WBAP, Arlington, TX. Promotional materials such as bumper stickers would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much for taking the time to verify my reception. I hope this report has been of interest to everyone at WBAP and wish you continued success.

This is a note of thanks. It was my privilege and pleasure to be one of the winners in the “Diamond A Day In The Month Of May” contest, which is coming to an end. Winning was extremely exciting for me. I’ve also enjoyed listening to other winners and sharing their excitement. Thanks to all those involved in bringing this contest to the listeners.
A special thanks goes to Becky Wipht, on whose program I won. I’ve had several short conversations with her; she’s always upbeat, attentive and a pleasure to talk to. She is indeed a “gem” in your on-air staff. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Gennie Coe and Randall Robertson. These two kind people went out of their way to help me acquire my prize when I arrived at your business office, after hours on a holiday weekend. I won’t forget them.
