From the Principal’s Desk
Dear Students,
Welcome to Post Graduate Government College, Sector - 46, Chandigarh.
Education does not mean providing answers. It means equipping the students with the
means to find the answers for and within themselves. Therefore our endeavour at Post
Graduate Government College, Sector - 46, is to empower our students by providing
them the best possible learning environment and the highest possible standards of
support and guidance so that they become socially aware citizens who will play an
important role in building a tradition that will endure through the years to come.
Endowed with the vision of shaping the minds of the youth, the Institution has been
relentlessly striving with a disciplined zeal to perceive and maintain academic
excellence and developing skills to support lifelong well being.
Our experienced and dedicated members of the faculty nurture and ignite the young
minds through strong academics, co- curricular and extracurricular activities aimed at
the holistic development of the students. A vista is opened to the student volunteers
through the N.S.S. and N.C.C. thereby providing them a training ground to meet the
challenges in life and enabling them in becoming, enquiring and well-rounded
individuals with an independent mind who respect and empathise with others.
The college provides all facilities like Library, Computers, Internet, Laboratories,
Language Lab and Sports activities to meet the needs of the new upgraded pattern of
higher education. We have a highly devoted team of the non teaching staff committed
towards the achievement of our mission and goals. NAAC, an autonomous body of
UGC reaccredited us with ‘A’ grade in 2015.
I welcome all the students who will be joining us this year. It will be our endeavour to
make their stay fulfilling, enlightening and memorable.
This prospectus is a reflection of the ethos of the college.
Best Wishes,
