May 2020 At last we are starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel with Covid-19 restrictions easing. I realise that it has been difficult closing the club over this period, especially with the great Autumn days we have been having lately. We are now opening access to the club from Sunday 17 May under level 2 to members only. However this does come with restrictions as agreed by the committee at our May meeting. If you are planning to visit the club, please ensure you read the rules regarding access and abide by them. They are there for everyone's protection. Hopefully we will be able to share our bubble with Australia before this summer. With this in mind we are looking at promoting our club in Australian naturist publications. This will compensate for the predicted decline in other overseas visitors. We will keep you informed of future develop- ments. Stay safe and take care. FROM THE CHAIR

Notice of Annual General Meeting

The committee have tentatively set a new date for our AGM of Sunday 28 June 2020 at 2:00pm. This is dependent on the rules in exist-ence at that time enabling us to do this.

New nomination forms and remits will be issued for this date.

Social Activities Unfortunately we are not planning any social activities at this stage. Social distancing rules in level 2 create difficul-ties for us, especially when preparing food in the hall kitchen. We will keep you informed as to when social activities and working bees can re-commence.

Level 2—Club open to members only from Sunday 17 May 2020

Member Subscriptions

Last month we highlighted the ongoing cost the club incurs despite being closed. We would appreciate prompt payment of any outstanding invoices to ensure you get the new gate codes when they change later in May.

We also understand the dilemma for some members whose income may now have ceased, be significantly reduced or be at risk in the near future. As a result, we wish to support people who want to remain members but may have chal-lenges in paying their subs. If this is you please let us know and we can work out a solution.

Please contact the Treasurer if you have any questions: e: [email protected]

Level 2 - Access to the Club With the announcement that we are moving to level 2 from Thursday 14 May, access to the club can be allowed from Sunday 17 May subject to strict conditions that must be observed by members. Opening from Sunday gives the committee time to ensure all ablution blocks are cleaned and ready for use. The conditions are as follows:

Access to the club is for members only. Visitors are not permitted

The pool and spa remain closed. Unfortunately we do not have the resources to adhere to the thor-ough cleaning practices and regular sanitising required, and social distancing is not possible in these confined places.

Please don't come to the club if you are unwell.

We are required to have a contact tracing register. The names of all members coming to the club must be recorded. There are two options for doing this. (1) A register will be located in the down-stairs lounge in the hall. Sign in upon arrival, and sign out when you leave using your own pen; or (2) Download a QR Code Scanner app from the App Store on your phone. Scan the QR Code located in one of the ablutions blocks or outside the hall. See notice below for further information. NB: if you have a newish Android or iPhone you should only need to open the camera and point it at the code and follow the instructions on your screen. See instructions on next page.

Social distancing rules must still be observed as specified by the government.

If you intend to use the ablution blocks, you must bring your own towel.

Members using the ablution facilities must sanitise these after every use. This means sanitising all surfaces that you come into contact with including door handles, toilet seats, basins, and shower walls. The committee will ensure there are sanitising liquids and cloths placed in the ablution blocks.

Please take care when moving around

the grounds. In particular, there are

trees down across the path up to the

Dell adjacent to Park Lane.

Mini orchard The cranberry trees have finished

fruiting and now its time for the feijoas,

a few for everyone to share.

Update from Mike Moore, Editor, gonatural magazine

COVID19 The last two months or so, have been extraordinary and unthinkable, as we have been observing the rapid escalation of this pandemic and how different countries have had vastly different approaches, some with catastrophic outcomes, and many still with trauma and death ahead of them. Meanwhile, little ol Aotearoa has - it seems - come through with a reasonably positive overall outcome. I hope your livelihoods remain intact and those who are facing challenges, have support for the weeks and months ahead. MARCH / APRIL 'GONATURAL' MAGAZINE The magazine was almost ready for printing and distribution when New Zealand was ordered into lockdown, preventing pro-duction. Only essential work was allowed to be done. Magazines were not granted exemption. I am talking with our printer to find a production schedule as Level 2 starts, as there is now a huge demand of printing services. The digital version will be dis-tributed at the same time as the printed edition. As you can understand, these delays, have been beyond our control. Please bear with us and we will honour our agreement with subscribers. PLEASE SHARE YOUR LOCKDOWN STORY How was your experience as a naturist during isolation and lockdown? How did you cope/adjust? Everyone's story and experi-ence will be unique during this time: in your home, workplace, club fraternity, community, and those among us who are essen-tial workers. Did you encourage your non-naturist friends to try nudism in the safety of their home? Naturism, by very nature, is a social connection, acceptance of difference and enjoying shared company, the cornerstone of who we are and what we do. So these times have cut off all that social interaction. To this end, I'm reaching out to ask you, your group / club, or your family, to put some words and maybe photos, together, for a unique feature in gonatural magazine. It might be just a funny lockdown nudie story or an outing/event or how you embraced your naturist lifestyle during these strange times, that you would love to share with our community in NZ and around the world. EMAIL any stories and photos to [email protected]

NZ NATURISTS / FREE BEACHES AMALGAMATION For many years, members of NZ Naturists (known as the supporters group) have had gonatural magazine included in their membership fee, whereas, NZ Free Beaches have a very low membership fee. With the combining of these two groups follow-ing the AGM, the NZNF are encouraging all to subscribe to the magazine at renewal time, with an opt-out (rather than an opt-in). These subscriptions provide an vital income source for the magazine's production costs. Some clubs, like Hawke's Bay, encourage subscription at membership renewal time. This proactive approach, is important for the ongoing success and future of the magazine, especially following the cessation of retail bookshop sales two years ago. Therefore, we strongly encourage clubs to proactively promote magazine subscriptions to their members via their annual membership fee. EMAIL ERROR Over the last couple of months, the editor's has had errors, Murray is assisting to resolve this.

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for continuing to support your magazine - now in it's 64th year of publica-tion. Finally, be kind to one another as we all tread into this new normal. Yours naturally, Mike Moore
