Labor Day is observed on the first Monday in September, pays
tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers
to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country. Labor Day
was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and
officially recognized as a federal holiday in 1894. Though in modern
times, for many Americans, Labor Day also symbolizes the end of
summer and is celebrated with parties, parades, and athletic
events.

Patriot Day (Sept. 11 th ) Patriot Day is an annual observance on September 11 to remember those who were
injured or died during the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001. Many Americans refer Patriot Day as 9/11 or September 11.
On the direction of the President, the flag of the United States of America should be flown at half-staff, on the homes of Americans, the White House and all United States
government buildings throughout the world, as a mark of respect to the men and women who lost their lives in the tragic terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
National Grandparents’ Day (Sept. 13 th ) National Grandparents’ Day is an annual observance in the United States that honors grandparents and other seniors, and seeks to strengthen relationships between the
generations.
“Grandparents are our continuing tie to the near-past, to the events and beliefs and experiences that so strongly affect our lives and the world around us. Whether they are our own or surrogate grandparents who fill some of the gaps in our mobile society, our senior
generation also provides our society a link to our national heritage and traditions.
