Personal forgiveness involves the ability to humbly confront, draw in witnesses if necessary, and to even involve advice from the church if that is needed. Sacramental forgiveness involves us going to the Sacrament of Reconciliaon to be absolved of our sins, reconciling once again with God, with the church, and with the whole Chrisan community. THE PATH TO FORGIVENESS… In Saint Matthew’s gospel for the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, we see an explanation (and a path) for both personal forgiveness and sacramental forgiveness. Personal forgiveness involves the ability to humbly confront, draw in witnesses if necessary, and to even involve advice from the church if that is needed. Sacramental forgiveness involves us going to the Sacrament of Reconciliation to be absolved of our sins, reconciling once again with God, with the church, and with the whole Christian community. How are we doing in our use of both paths of forgiveness?

HELP WANTED… Do you have a boiler’s license? Are you interested in getting one? Do you know someone who has a boiler’s license? We are looking to hire someone to check the Saint Gabriel church and school boilers once a day this fall and winter. If interested, please contact Msgr. Paul, Tom Appel or Randy Kremer. Are you interested in being hired to clean Saint Gabriel church and school this fall and winter? If interested please contact Msgr. Paul, Tom Appel, or Randy Kremer.

A FRIENDLY REQUEST… If you send me a text, I am certainly happy to respond to it. However, I do not have all of your names/phone numbers in the contact list of my phone. Recently, I have received texts bearing messages and phone numbers I do not recognize, and the sender fails to identify who they are. This has caused me to text back: “Who are you?” So, please, if you send me a text, include your name either at the beginning or the end of your message. Thank you!

MASS INTENTIONS - Sept 2020

FAITH FORMATION IMPORTANT FAITH FORMATION INFORMATION

Plans are underway for our classes this fall (which will hopefully begin mid-October Teachers are needed for the following classes:

Elementary: Kindergarten, 2nd grade (through

December), 4th grade & 5th grade.

High School: 7th, 8th & 9th & 11th gr.

NOTE: In order to teach, if you are not already “Virtus Certified”, you will need to do an online training through the Diocese and have a background check run. This is a Diocesan requirement done in order to ensure the safety of all our students. (The training can be completed in just over an hour’s time). In years past, taking this training required traveling to an evening class; often times not at our own parish. The online option is a very convenient way to complete this training in the comfort of your own home.

If you have questions, or would like to volunteer, contact Peg
