With Friday night happy hours, swim team meets and outdoor aquatics programs, the pool creates a vibrant energy here – even when fickle weather rains on our parade. We’ve had several energetic happy hour parties this year, thanks to 25th anniversary celebrations, the euro-bungee trampoline, appearances by fun critters, and music from some of the city’s best R&B, folk, and rock-n-roll bands (be sure to peruse the photos on our Facebook page). But, like all good things, summer comes to an end; that’s why it’s important to know how you can stay active and make the most of your Club year-round. New this fall, we’re adding additional days and times for men’s 21-and- up basketball schedule. Beginning in September, players can now catch a pick-up game any day of the workweek! Courts will see action on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, in addition to the standard times of 4pm to 7pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We also plan to continue our kid’s group fitness classes and staffed open play around the Club, to keep the kids active as the weather cools. Another new addition this season is youth table sports leagues; Carpet Ball League is the first available, for ages seven to 13. We’re hoping to add air hockey, bowling, foosball and table tennis in the weeks to come. For families that like to stay active together, Family Fitness hours are offered in the Xpress Room seven days a week. The 2nd Indoor Pool will be located in the old Group Exercise Studio across from the squash and racquetball courts. This project includes work beyond the new indoor pool, namely; moving a tanning bed to Tonics, converting the tanning rooms into 3 changing rooms, an additional check-in window at the outdoor pool, an expanded concrete deck near the splash pad and a concrete path from the Club to T Squash. The entire project should be completed by Spring 2016.

GROUP FITNESSBEST Athletic Training for Teens

The CSC and Beacon Orthopedics have teamed up to offer the BEST training program for athletes ages 12 to 18 that want to step up their game on the field, court or gym floor this fall. The BEST – or Beacon Elite Sports Training – program is a four-week class designed by expert trainers to boost strength, stamina, speed and agility in a focused environment. Training sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursday at 6pm, and Saturdays at 10am. The cost is $160 for 12 sessions. Contact: Kevin Danbury

60+ Boot CampThis modified version of boot camp was designed for active older adults aged 60 and up. Exercises are created to be functional and effective, with a focus on strengthening the muscles that support the upper body. The cost is $12 for members and $22 for guests of members; led by CSC Private Trainer Ed Feldhaus. 45-minute classes will be held on Tuesdays at noon in September and October on the Indoor Field. Balance for 60+Designed specifically for members aged 60 and up, CSC Private Trainer Sondra Kurz will lead you through this 30-minute workout focusing on balance and control. Class takes place in Studio A, and the cost is $10 for members or $20 for guests of members. Classes are Thursdays from 11:30 am-Noon beginning 9/3. Contact: Lynda Wilisch

Pilates WeekThe week of 10/26 to 11/1 is Pilates Week, and an op-portunity to learn how this popular fitness style improves core strength, increases flexibility, and balances the mind with the body for healthy longev-ity. Andrew Kriete Joins The T Coaching StaffThe T welcomes Andrew Kriete to the team, where he’ll be working with the upper-level juniors and adults. Before coaching in New Jersey, Massachusetts and New York over the past four years, Andrew was voted team MVP as the top player during his time at Amherst College.

Paddle Tennis Teams and ClinicsPlatform tennis – In Cincinnati also known as paddle – combines tennis, racquetball and paddleball into a fun outdoor sport on a heated surface from October through February. Here’s the scoop:1 Four of the city’s best platform players will compete in an exhibition match

at the Club on 10/9 at 6pm. Grab a seat and see what the game is all about. 2 Platform tennis clinics are open to beginners interested in learning

gameplay basics. Daytime and evening classes are available with private and small group instruction.

3 The CSC and the Greater Cincinnati Paddle Tennis League are currently forming men’s and women’s teams. All ages and abilities are welcome, and beginners especially are encouraged to give it a shot and come have some fun on the court with us.
