I would like to take this opportunity to extend my support for the merger between BB&T and SunTrust bank.

Almost ten years ago, my partners and I started Hydrologic Distribution Company. We are a distributor of plumbing supplies in the Florida market that originally started with just three employees. Today we have eight locations and over 160 employees all throughout the greater Tampa Bay area.

BB&T has been a tremendous capital partner to us. Having worked with many banks over the years, I can honestly say that BB&T is the most thorough, careful, and trusted financial institution I have ever worked with. To be even more specific, Jeff Lampasso is quite possibly the most talented relationship manager I have ever come across. I have known Jeff for many years and have complete confidence and trust in him. You simply couldn't ask for a better partner than BB&T and, In my opinion, they are the gold standard by which all other banks should be measured.

I firmly support the merger between BB&T and SunTrust bank and look forward to working with them in the future.

To whom it may concern:

I would like to share my personal banking experience with you. In my 42 years of personal banking, I have only used three banks. With my first bank, I did not think I would ever find a more positive experience. After moving to the second bank I realized I was wrong, and I now had the best possible. Or, so I thought. I clearly had not experienced BB&T customer service. The customer service of BB&T has been top notch, from day one. The responsiveness of the entire BB&T staff is second to none.

I am always impressed by the involvement of the executive staff within the walls of the bank and their involvement in the community. It is evident to all; BB&T is a part of the fabric of our community. Their participation in worthy charitable causes, as well as quality of life issues and programs, is very much appreciated. The lives of those living in our community and the economic development of our area are much improved by the men, women and corporate culture of BB&T.

Though I have never personally banked with SunTrust, I have worked in the community with many exceptional individuals employed by SunTrust. SunTrust has done a commendable job of having their representatives out in the community positively representing the bank and impacting the community.

I.could not be happier to have these two fine institutions merge. I believe the outcome will be positive for the employees, management, and community. If I can be of further service or answer any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kindest regards,

~~ Butch Miller Dealer Manager

RE: BB&T and Sun Trust Merger

To Whom It May Concern,

I would like to share a few comments about my experience with BB&T.

My husband and I own and operate a power sports business in Hagerstown, MO. It has been family owned and operated since 1932. We bought the business in 1987 from my husband' s grandfather. In those years we have dealt with 4 banks, 2 of them from mergers, with BB&T being the last. Being in a small town and BB&T being a larger back, we weren' t sure how the transition would go. We are very happy to say BB&T couldn't do more to take care of our accounts, both personally and professionally. They made sure the transition exceeded our expectations. They honored all the commitments we had, most importantly a line of credit for our inventory. They have continued to work closely with us over the last several years. We feel l ike we have another partner working for our business.

We have also had the pleasure of getting to know our account managers on a personal level as well, through community involvement. BB&T made sure our community remained a priority after the merger with Susquehanna and I'm sure they will do the same after the merger with Sun Trust.

In closing, we are excited to see all the new opportunities the merger may have for us In our business. We support the merger and believe that it will have positive results for both our business and community.

Thank you,

I am the CEO of a regional CPA firm in Western North Carolina. I also chair the advisory board for BB&T in Asheville, North Carolina. In my role as a CPA, I have worked with a number of financial institutions over the years, particularly BB&T and Suntrust. I have found both banks to be very service oriented and responsible members of the local business community. These organizations appear to be an excellent fit and therefore, benefit the local markets significantly if combined. The scale would likely allow for more technological advancements needed to serve clients today among other opportunities.

From my understanding of these two fine organizations, I would strongly support this merger.

Sincerely,

The United Way of Wilson County, NC and BB&T have enjoyed a great partnership for more than 60 years. Wilson NC is the hometown of Branch Bank and Trust. For almost 150 years, our community has watched BB&T grC!w through mergers, acquisitions and the addition of new branches. BB&T is extremely important to our town because BB&T believes the importance of strengthening communities. As BB&T has grown, so has their philanthropic investment in Wilson. Their financial contributions to non-profit organizations and their strong support of employee volunteerism are part of the BB&T culture.

BB&T has a deep passion for people and SunTrust shares the same passion. From: Jennifer Singeisen [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, April 26, 2019 11:08 AM To: BankMergerApplication Subject: [EXTERNAL MESSAGE]Support of Sun Trust/BB&T Merger

To Whom It May Concern,

It gives me pleasure to support for the proposed merger of Sun Trust and BB&T. Both financial institutions support Step Up Savannah in promoting economic opportunity and financial security in Chatham County. While a quarter of Savannah's residents live in poverty, that percentage jumps to 50% and higher in some neighborhoods and has remained persistently high for over 30 years. Sun Trust and BB& T's commitment to this work is a credit to their dedication to economic mobility and financial security in our community. This has been demonstrated in a number of ways and specifically through Bank On Savannah and the Chatham Apprentice Program (CAP).

Bank On Savannah was established in 2009 through the joint effort of Step Up Savannah, the Banking Taskforce, the City of Savannah, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta to provide safe and affordable accounts to the banked or under-banked. Both Sun Trust and BB&T offer no and low-cost checking accounts for those who have never had accounts before, or who have had trouble managing an account in the past. This vital access to mainstream financial products helps build credit, longer-term savings, and promotes financial security which increases opportunity of economic mobility.

Sun Trust has also been a strong supporter of financial education in our workforce development program. The Chatham Apprentice Program takes a holistic approach to workforce development training through wrap around services including soft skill training, hard skill training, financial education, behavioral counseling, healthy eating, legal aid, access to public benefits and banking, as well as job placement. Sun Trust's consistent financial support has helped to increase the program's reach by over 30% in the past three years, and for the average graduate pay to increase from $9.68 per hour to almost $14.00 per hour.

I believe that by combining their efforts and resources, and continuing to place emphasis on economic mobility, our community can benefit by this proposed merger.

Kindest regards,

Jen

Boston Capital supports the pending merger between Branch Banking and Trust Company and SunTrust Bank.

Boston Capital has worked extensively with both banks for many years placing equity and debt through the federal low income housing tax credit program that serves low income families and seniors. Branch Banking

and Trust Company and SunTrust Bank are consistent and diligent advocates of the Community Reinvestment Act. They have had a significant positive impact to the large and small communities they service in their assessment areas by creating thousands of apartment units for low-income families and seniors. Branch Banking and Trust Company and SunTrust Bank are good corporate citizens and both banks working together

would make a superlative bank.

I would like for you to understand my position on the merger of SunTrust & BB&T. My family has had the honor to bank with SunTrust in Miami since December of 1969. At the time I was only 5 years old when we came to this wonderful country from Cuba. My father opened several accounts at Flagship bank in M iami, including savings accounts for my brother and I. The relationship with bank grew and the folks that operated the bank always stayed in touch and developed a great relationship. As time passed SunTrust has been our commercial bank of our business. Today we deposit over 200 million dollars per year and have had a line of credit as large as $25 million. I am also very proud to I serve on the SunTrust Board of Advisors of South Florida. The merger of equals of the both of these great institutions will be fantastic for the consumers and business throughout the country. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank you for

RE: SunTrust BB&T Merger

To Whom It May Concern:

As a founding member, past president and current Board member of the Bubba Moore Memorial Group, it is my honor to provide this letter of support for the Branch Banking and Trust Company (BB&T).

The Bubba Moore Memorial Group, Inc. (BMMG) is a 501© 3 nonprofit organization that was formed in 2004 after the untimely death of a community friend and journalist. Bubba Moore was a newspaper man who promoted local business and causes that helped citizens and organizations in need. Bubba was an entrepreneur and did not have good medical insurance. A group of friends gathered and held a fundraiser to assist he and his family with their massive medical bills and living expenses.

While forming BMMG a local mortgage lending officer, Danielle Fifer joined our group to further the cause and continue Bubba Moore's legacy. Danielle Fifer is an employee of BB&T who serves on several local Boards and is currently serving as BMMG's President. Danielle has helped accelerate the notoriety of BMMG which in turn has lead to more underwriters and sponsors for our fundraising events. Several years ago, Danielle introduced Donald Burback, BB&T's CRA/Community Development to BMMG. When Don learned of the many organizations that BMMG provided donations to he assisted us in applying for funds. He has been a promoter and champion for BMMG as well as giving his volunteer time to other nonprofit Boards.

To date the Bubba Moore Memorial Group has given over $750,000 back to other nonprofit organizations and some individuals who are in need of assistance. We are proud to acknowledge that we have been able to give back to many and a large part of it is due to individuals like Danielle Fifer, Don Burback and BB&T's continuing support within our community.

We look forward to maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship with the merged BB&T/SunTrust entity and continue to give back to those in our community who need assistance.

Best regards, Rosemarie Selman, Vice President Bubba Moore Memorial Group, Inc.

I am pleased to provide this letter for support for the great partnership we have in the Ocala (FL) Metro with SunTrust. The Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP) is the economic development leader for this area and SunTrust has been actively engaged with us for more than 30 years. SunTrust is a Champion partner with the CEP and have been a key community partner as we have sought to build and diversify the local economy.

As a career chamber and economic development professional with 25 years of experience, I have worked with dozens of banks across the Southeast. However, I can state without reservation that SunTrust has been among the most engaged in working to understand the uniqueness of our community. They understand the market, the opportunities, and how to serve both. The first question is always, "H ow can we assist."

If nothing else is a testament to their commitment, I believe our continuing relationship with them speaks volumes. Banks come and go but they had stayed the course. SunTrust has a reputation which speaks of excellence. I am pleased to offer this letter of support and look forward to an even greater community partnership once they merge with BB&T.

This electronic mail is to offer comments concerning the community work of SunTrust Bank, Savannah, Georgia.

First, it is safe to say that SunTrust Bank, Savannah has for quite awhile held a strong reputation for its civic and community activities. The bank is known to be associated with numerous organizations and civic projects that are beneficial to the greater Savannah community. I speak from personal knowledge, having witnessed the bank involvement for more than 30 years. My knowledge is based on what I hear in addition to the things that I have personally witnessed.

listed below are just a few of the initiatives carried out on behalf of the bank by Ms. Stephanie Johnson, Vice President/Community Development Manager. Ms. Johnson has been the face of the bank in a broad array of activities for many years.

School Council Initiative: This is an initiative associated with the Savannah Chatham County Public School System. Over the years Ms. Johnson has served on three different school councils representing SunTrust as a business partner. Her involvement on each of the councils has been significant. I can personally state that Ms. Johnson is one the most outstanding business partners serving on the school councils here in Savannah.

United Way of the Coastal Empire

Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance Day Committee

Stepup Savannah

Senior Citizens Program (an initiative of the local Community Action Agency)

Board of Directors, Junior Achievement of Georgia (JA)

This is only a very few of the initiatives the bank is known to be associated, mainly with the involvement and coordination of Ms. Johnson. Finally, let me say that what the bank does in this community is unequivocal. I only hope that the merged entity will continue the efforts exhibited by the bank and the work of Ms. Johnson.

Re: BB&T-SunTrust merger

Dear Sirs

This letter is in support of the BB&T SunTrust merger. BB&T has for the past four years been a valuable partner with Community Farm Alliance in supporting CFA's work to increase healthy food access to low-income communities and economic development in general.

BB&T provided the initial funding that enabled CFA to launch the Kentucky Double Dollars program to provide healthy food incentives to SNAP participants. The KOO program was launched at six farmers markets in BB& T's service area. Today the KDD program is offered at 41 farmers markets and three retailers in Kentucky.

I believe that this merger wil l only serve to increase the investment by BB&T/SunTrust back into our Kentucky communities.

Respectfully,

- 1. ~·t ()vtG "2::._ \.,, Martin Richards, Executive Director Community Farm Alliance
