cause the same sense of powerlessness. We may have some experience of renewal after a storm in our lives, but for many the future will still be bleak. We will need to take time to consider what was lost in our ‘storm’ to track our fears, concerns and hopes. As we explore this powerful force in our lives we can also reflect that God is present in the midst of stormy times in our lives. I pray that we will come to a deeper understanding of God’s wisdom and power, which is beyond what we can express in words.

SPRING ART SHOW We are holding our Art Show on the weekend of 11-13 October 2013 There are wonderful handouts, in the foyer of both centres, for everyone to distribute. This is a Parish fundraiser and also an outreach. Please help, come along and enjoy. Bring your friends to this event. I will be asking people for some help over that weekend. You don’t have to buy to be part of this. Lots of prayers and support and just coming along to be the Parish in Lambton is what I am asking. We have a wonderful parish and want to show off our facilities and people to the community. If you need any more information please see Gina Parslow, who is the Co-ordinator with a committee that is organising this event.

Today’s Scripture Readings – Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost

STORM SUNDAY Creation imagines and reflects the divine characteristics of God. The ocean examines God’s depths, the fauna and flora sing God’s abundance. Today we celebrate the storm. Words do not capture the power of God in the way thunder, lighting and strong winds can. In the storm, we confront how divine wisdom is beyond what we can describe and explain. We ask ourselves how we might move with the patterns of the weather and the Spirit, and follow the wisdom that creates sustains and redeems creation. Throughout scriptures, we see God’s people ask question about Wisdom’s source, role and present location. God answers through the unleashing of creation’s power and its harnessing, through the community’s response to suffering in their midst, and with the powerful witness of Jesus the Christ. We see glimpses of divine wisdom, enough to hope in its enduring presence and path towards our redemption, but it is God’s domain to know wisdom in its eternal fullness. Prayer O Wisdom, your power is unlimited and unceasing. Call us, wake us, bring our imaginations to and for life. Push us. Move us. Remove the barriers of our apathy and fill us with the courage to act with you guidance, and to trust in the wise and powerful Spirit that made and loved creation. Amen
