When Silver Spurs Equine officially opened itsdoors on December 5, 2005 we had one goal inmind—to create the finest breeding facility forreining horses in the United States. A ranch whereall breeders, large and small alike, can come andhave their choice of the best stallions represent-ing the finest bloodlines in Reining, get greatbreeding deals, and most importantly, be treatedwith the kindness and respect all breeders de-serve. At Silver Spurs it makes no difference if youare buying multiple breedings to our highestpriced stallions or a single breeding to one of ourjunior stallions, we will take the time to makesure you are getting exactly what you want andyou get the foal of your dreams.

Michelle and I love talking to the breeders, es-pecially the first-time breeders because they areso much fun. Usually they are shocked that theyare actually talking to the stallion owners, andthen at some point the conversation will usuallygo like this: they will say, “You are not at all whatI expected, you are just a normal person.” Towhich I reply “thank you, but what did you ex-pect?” and they say something like “well youknow, there are all these rumors about you guys…” to which I break in and say “Let me guess, didyou hear the one about me being involved in or-ganized crime and that all of our stallions arebought with drug money, or the one about usbeing so top heavy in stallions that we are readyto implode under our own weight, or the oneabout us trying to monopolize the breeding in-dustry and that one day we will raise our breedingfees to whatever we want and people will have to

pay it, or the one about us just being rich, snobbysonofaguns?” “All of them” they reply. OUCH! So Inaturally ask the question. “Why did you call usthen?” and to a one they say “Because you havethe best stallions and great prices. I really want tobreed my mares to your stallions.”

Our partnership with Bob Loomis goes muchfurther though than just being partners on a stal-lion. We have actually combined our breeding di-visions such that Loomis Ranch is the Oklahomabreeding division of Silver Spurs Equine. All SilverSpurs stallions are available at Loomis Ranch.Every year we will make a decision as to whichstallions will stand in Arizona and which will standin Oklahoma. Those that stay in Arizona havefresh/cooled semen shipped to Loomis Ranch viacourier every collection day and Bob has an

ample supply of frozen semen for all of our stallions. Loomis ranch isa 1,000-acre facility with beautiful grass pastures and incredible facil-ities for collection and on-farm breeding.

With a breeding operation as large as Silver Spurs, distribution iskey, so to make our stallions available in different parts of the countrywe also have an agreement with Heritage Farms in Utah to ship semenvia courier every collection day for local pickup and on-farm breeding.Now you have three places to go totake advantage of our incredibleone-of-a-kind breeding program. Aswe add distribution centers for ourstallions we will post information onour Facebook pages and website.

In addition to our newly acquiredstallions we are really excited aboutopening SG Frozen Enterprize’sbreeding book. “Iceman” has thrilledreining enthusiasts for years as hebecame the 2012 European OpenFuturity Champion, the 2014 AQHAJunior Reining World Champion, the2015 Cactus Classic Open DerbyChampion, the 2015 NRBC OpenClassic Champion, and the 2015NRHA Open Derby fourth place fin-isher. Sired by Frozen Sailor and outof RS Rose SJ this Italian-bred stallionis a complete outcross to everythingwe have in the United States and willintroduce new blood into everyone’sbreeding program.

We will not be breeding 2015NRHA Open Derby Champion Platinum Vintage in 2016. He will finishhis competition career during the remainder of the 2015 and 2016show seasons first. We will open his breeding book in 2017.

MARES, WEANLING AND YEARLING PROSPECTS

To further increase our mare power to bring to you the finestprospects by our stallions we are proud to announce the followingacquisitions:All Ruffed Up: Sired by Lil Ruf Peppy and out of Double Wind Chill(by Double R Doc), All Ruffed Up has produced the NRHA Open Fu-turity and NRHA Open Derby Champion, Not Ruf At All, and has aproduce record of $318,549. (Not Ruf At All was sired by our stallionA Sparkling Vintage)Lenas Whizabelle: Sired by West Coast Whiz and out of SugarmansBelle (by Lenas Sugarman), Lenas Whizabelle has LTE of $62,542. She

finished 6th in the Cinch NRHA Non Pro Futurity and third in the In-termediate Non Pro division. She won the Intermediate Non Pro Pre-liminary round at the NRBC and was second in the preliminary roundof the NRBC Non Pro. She has no foals as of yet.Lil Ruf Whiz Quiz: Sired by Lil Ruf Peppy and out of Pretty Ms Qhiz(by Topsail Whiz), Lil Ruf Whiz Quiz has LTE of 16,401. She was the Re-serve Champion of the Cinch NRHA Non Pro Futurity's Intermediate

division and has two performingfoals to date with a produce recordof $6,923. Bella Juice: Sired by Smart LikeJuice and out of Bella Conquistador(by our stallion Conquistador Whiz),Bella Juice has LTE of $55,215. Shefinished 26th in the NRHA Open Fu-turity and 21st in the IntermediateOpen division, Reserve Champion ofthe 2015 NRHA Non Pro Derby andChampion of the 2015 IntermediateNon Pro Derby division. No foals asof yet.

2015 PROSPECTS:This year we have a fabulous year-ling and weanling foal crop. Wehave 16 yearlings and 38 wean-lings for sale. All of our prospectsare by our world famous stallionsand out of our champion andhandpicked brood mares; all bredto give you the opportunity totrain a champion. We have de-

cided to no longer have our annual sale. During last year’s sale wesaw that 95% of our yearling crop went to trainers who had cometo the ranch several times prior to the sale and had their picks andcustomers already lined up to make their purchases. The salesprice for our yearlings went up so fast (mostly by phone) that thepeople that came to the sale who had only seen our yearlings forthe first time the day before had no chance to get into the biddingas it went out of their reach in seconds. We did not think this wasfair, therefore in 2015 we are going to have a selling season thatwill kick off after Labor Day. Now individuals can come and viewour prospects at their leisure, bring their trainer and make theirselection without the pressure of an auction.
