We start this new year full of optimism and ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work. We have many projects scheduled for this year, as we complete all the projects we received bond funding for three years ago. One of our bigger projects will be on Hwy T near Scandinavia, where we will put more than three miles of line underground. The other bigger project is putting part of the line underground on Hwy J/Y west of Rosholt. We also have several smaller projects, but those are the bigger ones costing over $300,000 each. This industry is very capital intensive, and we spend over $2,000,000 each year on new construc- tion projects designed to improve our system. This will also be an interesting year politically, as we work on envi- ronmental issues on the national level and many other issues in Wisconsin. We have many new elected officials to work with, and that means explain- ing how important cooperatives are in ensuring rural America has the same opportunities as urban areas. From Here to There

By Greg Blum, President &

CEO

Let me first of all wish every one of you a prosperous and peaceful

new year.

The other bigger project

is putting part of the line underground on Hwy J/Y west of Rosholt. We also have several smaller projects, but those are the bigger ones costing over $300,000 each. This industry is very capital intensive, and we spend over $2,000,000 each year on new construc-tion projects designed to improve our system.

This will also be an interesting year politically, as we work on envi-ronmental issues on the national level and many other issues in Wisconsin. We have many new elected officials to work with, and that means explain-ing how important cooperatives are in ensuring rural America has the same opportunities as urban areas. We will continue to fight for our members to keep electricity affordable and reliable.

Have a great month, and may all of your dreams come true this year.

Virginia Kauffman and Marge Larson, two of the co-op’s Operation Roundup charter board members, have reached their term limits, so they will be stepping down. Virginia and Marge have served on the Roundup board since it started in 2004, and the success of the program is due in large part to their efforts,” said CWEC VP Mark Forseth. Thanks, Virginia and Marge, for a job well done!
