Dear Friends, members of the 2nd ITUC World Congress,

I would really wish to partcipate in your congress in Vancouver, but unfortunately, for unknown

reasons, the Canadian embassy in Cairo have not issue the visa for me yet untl now nor revealed to

me the reasons behind doing so, though I applied for the visa on May 30, 2010, and presented all

the required documents, including (ITUC invitaton, electronic tckets, hotel reservaton, and health

insurance). Moreover we have sent more than three messages via email and fax, which is the only

way for visa applicants to deal with the embassy because they refuse to answer any inquires through

telephone, however we have got an only replay via email on June 20, 2010 says that "your file iscurrently with the officer for decision". In fact, I am so sorry for the situaton of Canadian embassy

which raises many queston marks, especially afer ITUC had sent many messages to the embassy in

order to facilitate the process of obtaining my visa. Worth to menton, my passport, with which I

apply for the Canadian visa, includes a 5 years open visa to USA, and a 2 years mult entry Schengen

    Visa.

Dear friends, I would like to partcipate with you, while the Egyptan workers' protests for their

missing economic rights are increasing, shaping their way to obtain their right in forming freely their

own independent unions which enable them to defend their rights. Nonetheless, I am totally sure

that being absent out of my will, would not influence your concern and solidarity which is always a

cornerstone for Egypt's workers in their struggles.

I wish to thank the General Secretary of ITUC, Guy Ryder, for invitng me to the congress, also I would

like to thank the friends at ITUC work team, Mustapha Tilili, Isabelle, Regina for their sincere efforts

to help me to aend the congress.

    Best regards

    Kamal Abbas
