From Back Porches to the Library: Folk Songs 101
Rapid City, SD – February 19, 2016 – Back for a second month, Folk Songs 101 is for
anyone who plays an instrument, or just likes to listen to some good tunes. Mark your calendar
for Friday, February 26 from 3 – 4 p.m. at the downtown library (610 Quincy, upstairs) and
experience a musical “show and tell” of folk instruments and music that will be fun for the
whole family. Tracy Heeter and friends will introduce you to a whole range of musical
instruments including guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, bass, ukulele and autoharp. Hear the
music that regular folks have played on their back porches for over a hundred years. Musicians
will be playing and showing off their folk instruments, while playing along with songs all can
enjoy.
