White eye sclera (make two) • Cast on 3 stitches with Cascade 871 on 10.5 double point needles• Knit 1st row• Purl 2nd row• Row 3rd Knit in the front and back of the first and last stitch to increase to 5 stitches• Purl one row• Repeat row 3 and 4. (7 stitches)• Work three additional rows in stockinet stitch.• Decrease by knitting first and last two stitches together (5 stitches)• Purl one row• Repeat last two rows with decrease on the knit row (3 stitches)• Repeat first two rows and bind off on the third purl row.

Black eye pupil (make two) • Cast on 3 stitches with Cascade 1913• Work 3 rows beginning with a knit row in stockinet stitch• Increase one stitch in the first and last stitch (5 stitches)• Continue working 5 rows• On the 6th row decrease in the first and last stitch by knitting 2 together (3 stitches)• Work 3 additional rows and on the 4th row bind off.

Frog Mouth • Cast on 3 stitches with Cascade 1913.• Mouth is worked in an I cord.• Knit 3 stitches and do not turn needle. Pull the yarn from the end of the needle around

and work the three stiches in a knit row again. Repeat this until you have knittedapproximately 3 inches.

Finishing • Sew white eye sclera to the green eye pad.• Sew both sides of the bobble together and attach to the white sclera• Attach completed eye to the front of the hat• Attach mouth to hat.• Weave in loose ends on the hat.
