Breakfast With Friends … an aptly named event that over the past seven years has helped Catholic Charities

Community Services expand our circle of friends who work with us to support those

with disabilities and significant health challenges.

As we embark on our eighth year of Breakfast With Friends, we are once again reaching

out to our friends. Those who have supported us in the past, and those new to our agency

who have been impressed by our critical work. Your support of this, our largest

“friend-raiser” of the year, sends a positive message to over 400 compassionate staff who

deliver critical care and support to more than 3,000 individuals.

This quote by Albert Camus says it all … “Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.”

Thank you for helping all our friends served by Catholic Charities Community

Services realize their dreams of inclusion, individuality, and independence.

Darryl Strawberry is described as a legend by many who have been dazzled by the dynamics of his game, the power he possessed at the plate, and his story of redemption that continues to bring hope to so many lives. Today, as an ordained Minister, Darryl has found his purpose and passion by speaking a message of hope, and by helping others transform their lives.

Darryl and his wife, Tracy, have established a ministry: Strawberry Ministries, and have opened The Darryl and Tracy Strawberry Christian Recovery Program in Longview, Texas with the hope of launching two others in Orlando and St. Louis. They have also built the Adult Day Program for Autism.

We invite you to support Catholic Charities Community Services in helping us bring Darryl’s personal story of being a baseball superstar, falling into the pits, having everybody write you off, and then having God say, “I'm going to use your mess for a message.” You do not want to miss this riveting story of transformation!
