On Friday, March 20, a meeting occurred among Tom Sullivan, Sherif Garett

Wiggins, Deb insvar! and "olice #hie$ %oel &ae' The meeting (as held $or the

)ur)ose o$ e*changing in$ormation' For the )olice to build a station, it needs a

$oot)rint o$ +,000 suare $eet' Does the #ounty have enough room on their cam)us

$or the addition o$ the station- .t the meeting, they indicated they did not !no('

(ould be di1cult to share s)ace since both o$ our teams are su1ciently large to

need use o$ such s)aces continually' 4vidence areas could not be shared, but (ould

need to be built large enough to accommodate both de)artments' There is the

ability to share training rooms i$ there (ere a clear )rotocol $or sharing and reason

to share (or!out s)ace as (ell'

 The #itys currently )rogrammed building does not have a )ublic s)ace 5 instead,

staf are )lanning to use the suad meeting room $or ongoing training and not build

a )ublic meeting s)ace at this time' The (or!out room in the ne( $acility is

intended to be about 600 s $t'

7n the end, i$ the #ity $ound areas to share in its current )rogrammed cam)us, it

(ould be 600 suare $eet 5 the (or!out area' .nd to accommodate the )olice

building on the #ounty cam)us, there needs to be room $or an +,000 suare $oot

$oot)rint' The #ounty has not considered im)roving the sherifs cam)us in its

ca)ital budget and (ould not be able to commit any $unds $or 8oining cam)uses

until May, i$ then'

We (ent over the current combined activities o$ these t(o de)artments' .ccording

to e*)erts in the management o$ la( en$orcement, the t(o largest savings to be

$ound among agencies are 9: through combined communications/dis)atch and 2:

through combined s)ecial teams such as SW.T and drug en$orcement' We have

en8oyed these savings through combined eforts $or years'
