Year 1 and 2

Freshwater Theatre Great Fire of London On Tuesday, Years 1 and 2 enjoyed an interactive production about "The Great Fire of London'. The children were taken back in time and learned about what life was like in 1666. They met Samuel Pepys, the Mayor and Thomas Farrynor.

It was good fun and everyone participated in bringing history alive.

ECOLOGY COMMITTEE This week, the Ecology Committee commenced. The club includes

13 children from Years 2-6. In our first meeting, we discussed what

we have already achieved as a school and what we hope to achieve

throughout the year. We are also very proud to announce that we

have attained the Silver award for Ecology from the Eco Schools

programme that we follow. Well done to all the children that

worked hard in the Eco Committee to help get the award.

Miss Pericleous

Ecology Leader

Gymnastics Festival On Tuesday and Wednesday, gymnasts from Years 3 and 4 took part

in the Enfield Schools Gymnastics Festival, a big competition

featuring many schools from around the borough. The children had

to perform a floor sequence and the vault in front of a panel of

judges. The gymnasts have been working really hard towards

preparing for this. After overcoming some early nerves about

performing, they did themselves and the school proud.

Mr McKenzie

PE Teacher and PE Leader

Keeping Safe Assembly

In assembly all the children demonstrated what they had learnt through safety month. Different year groups demonstrated different ways of being safe from how to cross the road, how to be safe online and also how to prevent bullying. Excellent work was produced by all year groups including songs, videos and art work. Well done.

YEAR 5 Trip to Museum of London

Last Friday, Year 5 visited the Museum of London Archaeological

Archive. We were able to look at and handle real Viking artefacts

including a comb, a knife and a wooden bowl. We were also taken into

the enormous store where we gasped in amazement at the rows and

rows of objects which included parts of stone columns, boxes and

boxes of bones – some of them human! All of us got to design and

make a Viking brooch which we wore proudly for the rest of the day!
