July 2018 Dear Sheepbreeders & valued clients We sincerely thank all those who have supported us in previous years. We now take this opportunity to invite you to our 45th annual on property ram sale. Friday 3rd August 2018 at 11am Inspection from 8:30am - 230 Quality Poll Merino Rams (Watch for signs to turn from the main Karoonda/Loxton road at Sandalwood) Again we are very pleased to commend this year’s draft of sale rams to you. We are extremely proud of the quality and consistency of the draft, featuring big bodies with good carcase traits and elite fine/medium white, crimpy bale filling wools. The sale rams were shorn with 6 months wool growth, averaging 71mm staple length and a cut of 7.22kg. These rams are the result of sourcing some of the best genetics we can locate within Australia, which uphold our breeding objectives. Particular feature sires of this drop include Seymour Park 908 ($25,000), Seymour Park 111 ($13,000), Boonoke 948, Old Ashrose 445 ($45,000), Wallaloo Park 422, Moorundie 363 ($13,000), Orrie Cowie 980, Western Plains Mercenary, Big Joe 449 sons, Kamora Park 38 ($10,000), Kamora Park 522 ($10,000), Kamora Park 333 ($18,000), Kamora Park 143 and Kamora Park Syndicate. These sires have produced the most even and consistent sale team that we have ever offered. We will be showing or displaying select teams at the Bendigo Sheep & Wool Show, the Keith and Murray Bridge Field Days and the Adelaide Royal. We are excited by our new purchase of SP 23 (pictured below left), a stud reserve from Seymour Park stud, Narrogin, WA, for $25,000. We have used semen from three Seymour Park rams, including George (the sire of SP 23) – a champion medium wool ram at the Australian Sheep & Wool Show in Bendigo, Victoria, and have been impressed with the rich, crimpy wools they produce. SP 23 is an outstanding, very modern Merino with beautifully aligned, white, medium wool and a great long body. He has great neck extension, a pure face and is structurally correct with a loose skin. He has wool which is so hard to find, being rich and sharply aligned and oozing lustre. He had a bodyweight of 125 kilograms off-shears and his fleece measurements included 19.2 Mic, 3 SD, 16.6 CV and 99.8 CF. His first progeny are exceptional and will be offered at our 2019 ram sale. We invite your inspection and look forward to having a chat at any of the field days and shows, or on sale day.
