OFSTED CONGRATULATIONS LETTER Yesterday, I received this letter from Ian Harrison - the London Borough of Barnet Education and Skills Director: Dear Colin,
I am writing to congratulate you on the outcome of your Ofsted inspection last term. It clearly recognised how well you, other leaders, staff and governors work together to en-sure good outcomes for every child. This Ofsted inspection clearly demonstrates signifi-cant school improvement over the last three years. You and the team should take great credit for this.
I was delighted to read that the inspector recognised the strength of your curriculum and especially how well your teachers promote reading. She was also clearly impressed with the delivery of the wider curriculum too, through the ‘Wider Woodridge’ initiative and the positive impact this has had. The inspector also clearly recognised how staff are val-ued and, in turn, how they support children to thrive at Woodridge. I was also pleased that she recognised the safe, calm and purposeful learning culture in the school.
Please pass on my congratulations and thanks to all your colleagues, your governors and of course to the children too. Yours sincerely,
Ian Harrison Education and Skills Director
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL It was great to see the children back at school this week. I hope you have all had a great Christmas break.

BLUE SKY CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK A fiendish weekly challenge for you to solve around the dinner table: Challenge No. 10 - THE COFFEE DRINKER A man in a restaurant complained to the waiter that there was a fly in his coffee. The waiter took the coffee away and returned with a fresh one. The man tasted the fresh coffee and complained that it was the original cup of coffee but with the fly removed. He was correct, but how did he know?
