1.1. Creating Fresh Voice account. Please access a URL as follows. http://tvconf.umin.ac.jp/FV5.cgi/register_user_EN.php

If you are asked user name and password, input “tvconf” into user name and “nuhtvconf” into password.

Please input your information into text boxes. User Account Your account you want to use.

Don’t forget it. Password Your password you want to use

server will send a confirming mail to the address.

If the Fresh Voice Server registers your account, an email is sent to you. Access to the URL in the mail and your account created.

1.2. Preparation before downloading Fresh Voice V5

If the user client of the series of Fresh Voice installed before is still in your system, please uninstall it.

【Notice】 Please install Fresh Voice V5 by a user having authority in the admistrator. Please be sure to install camera driver before installing Fresh Voice V5. If you use the series of Fresh Voice V4, please uninstall the “FV messenger” too.

Following “1. Fresh Voice Installation Steps” and downloading the software needed. Because the user client system has two versions that one for VISTA and another for XP.2000, please make sure before downloading.

2. Start user client User client is a software for users to use Fresh Voice.

Double click the FreshVoice5 icon on the desktop to get start.

When user client starts, the Fresh Voice login screen appears.



3. User client initial settings For using fresh Voice, it is necessary to login. Please input the your account and the password, and push OK Button.

4. Communicating by Fresh Voice V5

Fresh Voice has 4 ways to hold a conference as the following.

Conference Mixing Mode Call members from address book to start a conference immediately.

Group Conference Mixing Mode

Create a group or groups in advance. When hold a conference, select a group and then users in the group will be called together. Schedule the start time is not necessary.

Control Mode In a scheduled conference, voice of a user holding the right of speaking can be heard only. Scheduled

Conference Mixing Mode In a scheduled conference, voice of all users can be heard. About group conference and scheduled conference, please refer to the Fresh Voice manual. 4.1. Start a quick conference

Quick conference is a conference mode that you don’t have to schedule a conference or create a group, and can start a conference by calling members from address book..When you want to start a conference immediately, you can use this mode. The chairman of a quick conference is the user creating the conference.

(1) Click the Address Book button. The Address Book screen

appears.

(2) Select a user or users in the list, and check the user or

users’ checkbox.

(3) Click the Checked Call button to start a conference.

4.2. Call users not in the conference to join in (additional convocation) During a scheduled conference, a group conference and a quick conference, you can add users to join in.

This function can be used by the chairman only.

(1) Click the Address Book button. The Address book

screen appears.

(2) Select a user you want to add. Click the user’s

ONLINE button and then the menu tab appears.

(3) Select Call, and then the user will be added.



5. Fresh Voice V5 conference features

Fresh Voice V5’s features are as following.

Chat Communicating by text-based. Web Browser Reference homepage in data sharing area.

Document Sharing

Share Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF, Jpeg. files and whiteboard. Show pointer and draw on a shared document is available. (More detailed information, see “5.3 Document Sharing”.)

Desktop Sharing Share your own desktop to the participants. Reference and remote control are available. (More detailed information, see “5.4 Desktop Sharing”.)

File Transfer Send a file to the participants. (More detailed information, see “5.5 File Transfer”.)

Show Video When more than 3 users in a conference, users’ video will be showed. A selected user’s video can be displayed in full screen. (More detailed information, see “5.6 Make video showed in full screen”.)

5.1. Chat

Enter the text by keyboard to communicate with the participants in a conference session. It is a convenient way to check spelling, number, and Chinese character. When audio conference troubled, the chat feature is useful.

Enter text in the area: Enter text by keyboard and click SEND button located on the right or press Enter to send the text. 5.2. Web Browser

You can display website to participants by the feature. Click Web Browser button and then the screen will switch to web browser.

� In the beginning, the home page set as the first page in IE will be displayed.

(1) Enter desired URL in URL space and press Enter or click the GO button. (You can click the My Favorite button and then select a web site you saved in the IE “My Favorite” list.)

(2) The web browser will be displayed in the shared browser area on your PC. Make sure and click the SEND button. On the participants’ side, the web browser will be displayed automatically.

(3) If you click the Image sharing button, the web browser displayed will be transformed to jpeg format and switched to document sharing mode automatically.



5.3. Document Sharing

5.3.1. How to share a document (1) Click the Select button on the document sharing

screen.. (2) When the dialog box appears, click a desired file. (3) Click the OPEN button and then the document

sharing starts. ※ The selected file is automatically converted to image file to transfer by Fresh Voice Printer. � A document with many pages may spend time in converting and transferring.

5.3.2. How to use Document Sharing Tool

You can close the Document Sharing Tool by clicking the X button. If you want it to be showed again, right click on document sharing area and then check the visible tool panel tab.

page Enter page number under the assigned page button and click the assigned page button. Then the page you assigned will be displayed.

next page Go to next page. first page Go to the first page. last page Go to the last page.

■Mode of showing page

Mode Feature

Synchronization When change pages in the synchronous mode, all users in this mode will switch to the same page together．The annotation feature works.

Unsynchronization When change pages in the unsynchronous mode, your desired page will be showed on your PC. The annotation feature does not work.

Follow me It is a feature that the chairman’s pc can use only during a conference. Force all participants to switch to the unsynchronous mode and show the same page with the chairman’s together. The setting of full screen is switch to the unsynchronous mode too.

③Advanced functions

Buttons/Function Feature

「→」Pointer The movement of your mouse will be showed by an arrow pointer with your name. An arrow pointer’s color can be selected by clicking the arrow buttons. If click the “X” button, the pointer will disappear. ※On your screen is a cross cursor and on the participants’ screen are arrow pointers.

Blank page The white board will be displayed.

Enlarge/Reduce The button of “+”（plus） is for enlarging and the button of “-“(minus) is for reducing.

Turn Click the “turn” button every time, turn 90°in the clockwise direction.

Move A shared document can be dragged and moved by a mouse.

Full screen mode When check the “full screen mode” box, the screen will switch to the full screen mode. If you want to close it, right click on the screen and select “close”.

Scroll synchronization

When move screen by scroll bar, the participants’ screen will move as the same time. (As a document’s size is lager than the display area, the scroll will be showed.)



5.4. Desktop Sharing

You can share your entire desktop in real-time. And the participants can control the shared desktop remotely.

5.4.1. How to use Desktop sharing

(1) Click the Desktop sharing button to start Desktop Sharing feature. (2) Click the Share button.

5.4.2. Control the desktop shared

Menu Features

Reference Mode It is a mode for referencing a desktop. When you don’t want to control the desktop remotely and just reference, you can also select the function.

Pointer On the screen of the user who is sharing his desktop, the user’s mouse pointer will be showed.

Remote Control It is a mode for controlling a shared desktop remotely. Because the right of control is not exclusive, if the plural computers control the desktop remotely in the same time, it will have a scramble to control mouse and keyboard.

（1） Click the “Pointer Select” located in the Desktop Sharing menu bar （2） Select a function you want to use.



5.5. File Transfer

You can send a file to all users joining the conference. Type and capacity of a file is not limited.

Buttons/Area Feature Select Select a file you want to send. Send Send the file you selected.

Renew Renew the list of files you received.

Save Save the file you received. Enter a file’s name and click the save button, than the file can be save in any folder.

File showing area Show the list of files you received. 5.6. Make video showed in full screen

Click the maximize button and then the video will be showed in full screen. If you want to make the video size back, please double click the video, or right click and select back.
