This SOL incorporates elements from the detailed SOL for year 7 and 8.( Italics refer to Equipe 1- year 7 textbook )See these SOW for all assessments, grammar and topic opportunities available at this stage.

Aim to cover 6 topics/grammar points per ½ term. It is a fast track course for those learning German as a first language. Beginners in year 7 will take 2 years to cover the course, those in year 8 will take 1year.

This SOL will prepare all pupils to extend and consolidate their learning in year 8/9. All KS3 pupils will be offered the opportunity to take part in a trip to France.

This SOW will allow those with prior learning at KS2 to consolidate and extend their knowledge and complete beginners to grasp the basics of language learning.

Pupils will be introduced to basic language skills while every opportunity for acquisition of cultural knowledge and cross curricular links will be fully exploited. All 4 skill areas – AT1,2,3 and 4 – will be used in every lesson and many aspects of the work will be differentiated in order to meet the individu-al needs of all pupils. Most work at this atage is at level 3 but opportunities for G & T pupils to work at level 4 + will be available. Assessments every half term – listening and speaking (first half) reading and writing (2nd half )

This SOW will prepare all KS3 pupils for the next stage of their language learning in Year 9. The majority of pupils will attain level 4 in all 4skill areas, some will reach level 3 in some skills and some will reach level 5 or 6 in some skill areas. Pupils will be informed about a trip to France to take place during the Year 9 course.
