Outside the Main Street promenade fromFremont Street1. The Blackhawk • Private Car 92,

the Private Rail Car used byBuffalo Bill.Buffalo Bill Cody used this car to travel

with his Wild West Show from 1906 until hisdeath in 1917.

The car was built in 1903 by the PullmanPalace Car Company, as the private car forthe president of the Chicago, Burlington &Quincy Railroad. The interior contains a sitting roomwith sleeping berths, a dining room, kitchen, and abathroom with showers. The original oil lamps havebeen converted to electricity. The car is furnishedwith turn-of-the-century antiques and still houses theprivate china, flatware and serving pieces.2. The Cascade • Business Car 100

Railroad experts regard this car as “the mostmagnificently preserved specimen” of an 1890’sprivate business car.

The Cascade was built in 1897 by the PullmanPalace Car Company for the president of the ColoradoMidland Railroad. Mr. D.H. Gerbaz, of Woody Creek,Colorado, preserved the car for decades in a barnbefore it was brought to Las Vegas and restored byMr. John Small.

The car contains a sitting room with convertiblesleeping berths, an observation area with upholsteredbooths, a guest room, a stateroom, a dining room, abathroom and small kitchen. The car also containsoriginal 1897 interior inlaid wood paneling with ornatecarved trim, windows, copper screens, and mirrors.The original pintsch gas lamps have been retrofittedto electricity. Many of the furnishings are periodantiques.3. The Street Lamps from the Town Square of

Brussels, Belgium.These red granite and bronze lamps were originally

installed in 1870 in Brussels’ Central Square. Theywere dismantled and stored for protection priorto World War I. They remained in storage untilpurchased and brought to Las Vegas.4. Stained Glass from Lillian Russell’s

Pittsburgh mansion.This outstanding Victorian allegorical stained glass

window was presented to Lillian Russell by “DiamondJim” Brady. Lillian Russell was a famous Americansinger and actress.

5. The original “Goldie’s Window”This outstanding example of Victorian stained glassartistry originally graced Ms. Goldie Schiesser’s home in

St. Joseph, Missouri. Goldie refused to sell the window,until finally an art dealer from Aspen, Colorado agreedto buy the entire home. This is the original windowwhich was later reproduced by stained glass artist MarkBogenrief. His replicas are located at several locationsthroughout Main Street Station.6. Fluted Columns from the Windsor Barracks.

These cast iron columns originally supported theBarracks which housed the Army guards of the British Thronein London, England.

7. Mahogany Apothecary CabinetryThe ornate mahogany woodwork which now graces the

casino entry, hotel registration desk and the Company Storewas removed from a turn-of-the-century drugstore inCovington, Kentucky. Hammered tin relief panels and beveledglass embellish the intricate carving. Pharmaceutical drawersin the Company Store feature the original nickel and brass pullsand contents plaques.8. Beveled Glass Transom and Sidelights from

Lillian Russell’s Mansion.These intricate beveled glass panels were part

of the entrance to Ms. Russell’s Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania home.9. Bronze Doors and Facade from

the Kuwait Royal Bank.The Players Club entry was originally

installed in the early 1900’s as the mainentrance to the Kuwait Royal Bank inLondon.10. Entry Doors to the Pullman

Mansion.These massive doors were removed

from the Pullman Mansion in Prairie,Illinois. The Pullman Company builtand operated many of the passenger, diningand sleeping cars during the heyday ofAmerica’s railroads.

The doors feature copper relief figures, andthe side casings include pilasters designed bynoted architect Stanford White.11. Fireplace and Sideboard Niche from

Preswick Castle, ScotlandThe Pullman Grille dining room was built

around these ornate carved oak fireplace

and wine storage cabinets; the unique sideboardniche includes panels which depict characters andmorals of Aesop’s Fables.12. The Louisa Alcott

This Pullman parlor car wasbuilt by the Pullman Companyin 1927, and was one in aseries of cars named forwomen authors and poets.The car has been refurbishedto provide an elegant cigar-smoking lounge.13. Chandeliers from the Coca-Cola Building,

Austin, TexasThe three exquisite bronze chandeliers above the

central pit were originally installed in the 1890’s inthe Coca-Cola Building in Austin, Texas.14. Chandelier from the Figaro Opera House,

Paris, France.This Art Nouveau style chandelier now hangs in

the rotunda near the bridge to the California Hotel& Casino.

15. Bronze and Crystal Beaded ChandeliersThese majestic chandeliers are typical of the

ornate beauty of the Victorian era and now hangunder the southern stained glass skylights, near thevalet parking entrance. The intricate crystal beading is

accented with a motif representing acanthus leaves.16. The Wild Boar from Nice, FranceThis huge brass boar originally served as a

fountain in Nice, France, and was a replica of aRenaissance period original in Florence, Italy.17. Chandeliers from the San Francisco Opera

HouseThese majestic bronze and crystal beaded

chandeliers were created in the 1850’s and now hangthroughout the Garden Court Buffet.18. Goddess Fortuna

This beautiful Italian marble statue, located in theGarden Court Buffet, depicts Lady Luck, holding a setof dice in her uplifted hand and a deck of cards in theother. Legend holds that her gaze brings good luck.19. A Portion of the Berlin Wall

This graffiti-covered segment of the oppressive wallthat once separated East and West Berlin now servesan appropriate function in the Gentlemen’s Restroom.Sorry, ladies.
