M2 – Optional Power Pins

Two pins are recommended for the power connections on M2 vehicles. These pins are available online from many

sources: search on the pin number listed below.

If no pins are available, the wires can be 3-way spliced into the feeds coming off each splice block.

M2 – Display

The display RAM mount attaches to the dash just above the passenger’s side cup-holder.

PMG

The PMG mounts behind the passenger’s side dash panel. The exact location will vary depending on

vehicle year and accessories. Some versions may require cutting the dash panel ribs to make room.

The Battery Power and Ground blocks are located under the dash top panel near the center of the cab.

J1708/1587 Data Connection – Pre-2011 Model Year

The J1708/1587 signal line was the original primary data circuit. It was phased out over time but should be

connected any time it is available as a complement and back-up to the newer J1939 circuit.

J1939 Data Connection – Pre-2016 Model Year

NOTE: There may be multiple vehicle 1939 connectors available in the noted location. Any of those connectors can

be used.

J1939 Splice Block – Years 2016 and Newer

Beginning in 2016 Daimler switched to a 500K J1939 circuit as primary. The pre-2016 location has that connection, identified

with white stripes on the yellow and green leads, plus a “500K” label. On those vehicles, the PeopleNet J1939 will connect to

the 250K circuit splice block, available under the dash top panel and in the glovebox area.

If available, splice Delphi part number 12110844* pins to the yellow and green leads of any of the J1939 pigtails in the L-016-0153 kit

and proceed to the next page. If not, follow these instructions to use the pins available in the International/Navistar Pigtail.

Optional PLC Trailer Tracking Connection

The PLC Trailer Tracking connects to the Trailer Power position of the Trailer Fuse Panel behind the driver’s seat using a Mini-ATC Add-a-Circuit

Optional PTO Connection

The Factory M2 PTO is multi-plexed. If PTO is desired and the unit has a factory switch,

connect to an airline following the recommendations in the Support Center PTO guide

If the vehicle has a non-factory PTO switch, test the switch and light looking for a 12 volt or

Factory-Wired M2 Fuse

By customer request, factory installed M2s are delivered with no power fuse inserted. Follow these

instructions to power the device.
