Warwickshire Pride… Celebrating Diversity in the Community
Welcome to Warwickshire Pride 2018
Thank you for downloading or picking up a copy of this Pride Guide. You’ll
find it’s packed with all the information you need to enjoy the big day.
This year’s theme is RAISE YOUR RAINBOW. We chose this theme to
coincide with the 40th anniversary of Gilbert Baker creating the rainbow flag.
It has since gone on to become an instantly recognisable symbol for the
LGBT+ community and is used around the world. We want to say thank you
to Gilbert Baker and encourage everyone to raise a rainbow with us at this
year’s Warwickshire Pride, both as a protest and a celebration.
I’d like to thank the following people and organisations that have helped to
make Warwickshire Pride 2018 happen:
Mister V Street Food, The Yard and Sheekie for their sponsorship.
The Big Lottery Fund, Paul Cottingham Trust and Leamington Spa Town
Council for their funding support.
The Gay UK for being our principal media partner for the 6th year in a row.
Collectors Assemble, Stone the Crows, Thrills of the Emporium and
Paperchase for stocking our Warwickshire Pride wristbands.
RLS Events for kindly lending chairs and tables to us for the festival.
All of the local businesses that have donated raffle prizes to help us raise
some funds.
My Umbrella for running our Trans Chillout Zone, and Brum Bi Group for
running our Bi Zone.
Every stallholder and performer taking part in Warwickshire Pride 2018.
All the fantastic volunteers helping out today. They are the backbone of
Warwickshire Pride. Show them some love!
And you! Thank you for coming. Enjoy!

Warwickshire Pride… Celebrating Diversity in the Community
Aims
Warwickshire Pride is a charity working with and for LGBT+ people in
Warwickshire. The annual Warwickshire Pride festival celebrates LGBT+ life
and culture. Its aim is to bring people from different communities together for
a celebration of diversity in our society. Warwickshire Pride promotes
acceptance, understanding and respect of LGBT+ people.
Information
The lost child and lost property point is at the backstage tent, which is next
to the main stage.
Toilets are located near to the Pump Rooms building and include a disabled
toilet. A Mobiloo is situated next to the First Aid. There are also toilets inside
the Pump Rooms.
First Aid is available from Warwick Ambulance Association. They are
located close to the vehicle entry/exit point (please refer to site map).
Please dispose of all rubbish in the bins provided. Littering is not ok and it’s
unfair on the volunteers who have to tidy up after everyone.
Warwickshire Pride is completely family friendly and all people are welcome
to enjoy the Pride celebrations.
Well behaved dogs are allowed on site and must be kept on leads. Please
also clean up after your dogs.
The festival site is fully accessible and disabled friendly. Please contact us if
you require any further information.
An information stall is located on the festival site. Please refer to the map
and stalls list on pages 12 -13 of this event guide to see its location.
Alcohol will be on sale from our Pride bar. There will be a Challenge 25
policy in operation, so please bring ID if you are lucky enough to look under
25. Please drink responsibly and be considerate of other people at the
festival.
Warwickshire Pride runs from 11:00am - 6:00pm. As it takes place in a
residential area, please respect local residents by leaving quietly.
The most important thing is that you have fun!

Women’s Tent at Warwickshire Pride
2018
At this year’s Warwickshire Pride we’re introducing a Women’s Tent for the
first time. This will be a safe space for all women to enjoy.
In the Women’s Tent you will find talks, workshops, performances and health
information in a friendly, welcoming and non-judgemental space.
Please refer to page 13 of this event guide to see where the Women’s Tent
is on the map (look for the women’s symbol on the map).

Bi Zone at Warwickshire Pride 2018
As part of our commitment to ensure Warwickshire Pride is as welcoming as
possible to the whole LGBT+ spectrum, this year we are introducing a Bi
Zone at the festival. This will be a safe and welcoming space for anyone who
identifies as bi or pan.
We recognise that Pride is about more than white gay men. Although it’s
important that Pride does cater for that part of the community, it’s equally
important that everyone else who comes under the LGBT+ umbrella is
represented at Pride too.
The Bi Zone will be facilitated by Birmingham Bi Group and Bi Pride. A range
of performances, talks and workshops will take place in what will be a
friendly, welcoming and non-judgemental space.
Please refer to page 13 of this event guide to see where the Bi Zone is on
the map (look for the bi flag on the map).

Trans Chill Out Zone
at Warwickshire Pride 2018
As part of our commitment to ensure Warwickshire Pride is as welcoming as
possible to the whole LGBT+ spectrum, we are once again having a trans
chill out zone at the festival. This will be a safe and welcoming space for
trans people and those who identify as non-binary to relax and meet new
people.
The trans chill out zone is being facilitated by My Umbrella, who are a
charitable organisation that exist to support and raise awareness of the
lesser known LGBT+ identities. Seating and blankets will be available, in
addition to a private changing space.
There will be a range of performances, talks and workshops taking place in
the trans chill out zone, which will have a friendly, welcoming and
non-judgmental atmosphere.
Please refer to page 13 of this event guide to see where the trans chill out
zone is on the map (look for the trans flag on the map).
Thank you for visiting Warwickshire Pride 2018. By being here today you
have supported the local LGBT+ community and showed that you care about
equality & diversity. Warwickshire Pride is organised for all people to enjoy,
not just the LGBT+ community, and we hope that you have enjoyed it.
Warwickshire Pride will return next year for an even bigger celebration of
diversity and LGBT+ culture. Keep your eyes peeled for details.
In the meantime why not check out the work we do throughout the year. We
run a range of services and activities for LGBT+ people in Warwickshire,
including:
• A weekly youth group for LGBT+ people aged 13 - 19
• A monthly group for parents and families of LGBT+ people
• A monthly social group for LGBT+ people with learning disabilities
• Telephone and email support
• LGBT+ awareness training
• Lobbying and campaigns to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and
equality
• Regular coffee mornings/afternoons and other social events
We are much more than an annual Pride festival and there are many ways
you can get involved. Please visit www.warwickshirepride.co.uk for details.
