As the 1968 rolls around, we will fill you in on changes...Austin Peay gives a healthy new contract to their main man in football.Phil Fulmer has his new head footballer who has gone recruiting crazy. Big question..will the Vols let Jennings, a super star, back on its team? He is a great player. It is Phil Fulmer’s call this time instead of our new coach...Vol fans holding their breath. Speaking of the Orange, how about the men’s and women’s basketball teams. MTSU a threat. Vandy men and women struggling. Wilson Central and Gallatin guys playing great. We will know much more how high schools improve in the next three weeks. Plenty of football kids have signed to play on the next level. Watch Tech now that coach Alexander is there. He is well known. Coach Rusty Melvin and coach Lee have a murderous schedule as Vol State takes on some of the nation’s best. Western hot, MTSU, once healthy, will be hard to beat. Watch Belmont, Trevecca, Linsley Wilson just up the road in Columbia, Kentucky recruiting hard here. West-ern Kentucky always good in football, men’s and women’s basketball. We have our eyes on Wilson Central, Lebanon, Macon county, White House and as we said, Gallatin guys.Beech girls always a threat. Titans earn playoff spot. Our Preds hit a losing streak after a scorching start. Yes, we have a pro hockey team and in about three more years we are named to have a major league Soccer group and new stadium. Sounds in Nashville and Hot Rods in Bowl-ing Green, our closest pro baseball. Vandy, Vol State and Cumberland baseball to watch, and coach Wilson has a ton of good high school baseball’s..very young but good. Our Music City Bowl with thousands of Wildcats fans here but the Kentucky basketball men play in Lexington the same day. That could put the fan base in a bind...White House and Portland girls building on their state championships in soccer and volleyball...Our Bob Pritchett will be running all over the place, filing taxes for many, going to Kentucky football and trying to get to the basketball plus throw in his grandson a star at Franklin Simpson..Good luck Bob..lol....Who will win the national championship? Just as Gallatin police chief Don Bandy or Barry Wells of Carl Wells Insurance..they will shout Bama.
