SongBird BlockThese instructions are to make 1 block. Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of 4 navy solid or clean white solid 3½” x 3½” squares. Place a navy solid or clean white solid 3½” x 3½” square on each corner of an assorted print 9½” square. Sew on the drawn line. Leave a 1/4” seam allowance and trim excess. Press. This will make 1 SongBird Block. Repeat to make 16 SongBird Blocks (8 navy and 8 clean white).

Flying Geese BlockThese instructions are to make 1 block. Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of a navy solid or clean white solid 3½” x 3½” square. Place the square in the corner of an assorted print 3½” x 6½” rectangle. Sew on the drawn line. Leave a 1/4” seam allowance and trim excess. Press. Repeat on the other side of the rectangle. This will make 1 Flying Geese Unit. Repeat to make 24 Flying Geese Units (12 navy and 12 clean white). Sew 3 Flying Geese Units together to create the Flying Geese Block. Repeat to make 8 Flying Geese Blocks.

Quilt Center AssemblyRefer to quilt photo for placement of SongBird Blocks and Flying Geese Blocks. Lay out blocks in 6 rows of 4 blocks. Sew rows together to complete the center of the quilt.

BordersSeam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew side borders first.

Border 1Side borders should be 48½”. Top and bottom borders should be 42½”.

Border 2Side borders should be 54½”. Top and bottom borders should be 44½”.

Border 3Side borders should be 56½”. Top and bottom borders should be 58½”.

Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric from the SongBird Collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt.
