Saturday, Sunday and Monday in...


FlightsOur trip started with us- three

teachers, and six students- Anna, Sindija, Katrīna, Lelde, Līga and Inta going by bus from Liepāja to Rīga. Our first flight was around 6am from Riga- Frankfurt, second- Frankfurt- Madrid. We were tired, but very excited. Around 17 pm we arrived in Madrid.


First day/Saturday in Madrid

We came to Madrid by two trains(Metro?), we went to our Hostel, left our bags in our rooms and then hurried to take a walk around this incredibly beautiful city and also to find a place where to eat.


Sunday

We woke up at 8am, ate breakfast in our cosy hostel and then walked around Madrid by ourselves. We saw a lot of nice places and sculptures, that are very well known in Madrid. Tried some of the traditional Spanish foods. We went to art museum and Tango show.




Foods like...paella and churros!


MondayOn Monday we woke up at

9am and had free time, then at 11am we had guided tour around Madrid. The guide was amazing, she showed and told us about every monument, building and place, that is related with Madrids history. At 17pm we had meeting with Teachers from Talayueala. Around 21 we arrived in Talayuela, finally met our host families, we were so

happy.


Tuesday

San Martin High School gave us such a nice ‘’welcome’’ by gifting us with a cap and a t-shirt. We participated in gymkhana, then watched Spain and Germany giving presentations. We went to Yuste, where we participated in video-conference. Visited Yuste Monastery and German Cemetery. In the evening we watched musical performance ‘’Mamma Mia’’, which was amazing.


Wednesday

We watched hobby presentations given by Italy and Turkey and it was our turn to show what are the most common hobbies in Latvia. Then we went to Romangordo...to ‘’Casa de la Aromas’’, where we watched how sope is made. It was interesting and we participated in this process as well.


The weather spoiled us with sun.



After ‘’Casa de la aromas’’ we went to Caceres, where at first we had guided tour around Caceres and then we had free time..either to go shopping, walk around this city or just to relax. We went shopping. Then we went to ‘’El Puchero’’ Restaurant. It was amazing, the place and food. We went back to Talayuela around 24, we were tired..and it was time to have some night chat with our host students and go to bed.


Thursday

On Thursday we wen to Quinto Pino, where we watched circus and then took part in different activities. After that we went to our host families to have lunch and pack our bags. Then we had free time and we went to city next to Talayuela. Then we had last dinner in Hotel Talayuela Golf...



Friday/Departure

We gave our last, sad goodbyes to our host families and went to Madrid Airport, where began our three flights..First Madrid- Munich, second- Munich-Frankfurt, third- Frankfurt-Riga. After we arrived in Riga, by bus we went to Liepaja, and around 2:30 pm we finally were back home...


That was a great week, with great activities and great people in a great

country!
