size 11 (8 mm), 29 in. (73.5 cm) long • Lion Brand® stitch markers • Lion Brand® large-eyed blunt needle

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS Circular knitting needle size 11 (8 mm), 16 in. (40.5 cm) long GAUGE 11 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in St st worked in the rnd (knit every rnd). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. STITCH EXPLANATION Yo (yarn over) An increase that also creates a small decorative hole (eyelet) in the fabric, worked as follows: 1. Bring yarn to front, between the needles. 2. Take yarn to back, over the right hand needle. This creates the new st. You are

now ready to proceed with the next st as instructed. NOTES 1. Cowl is worked in one piece in the round in sections of St st worked in the rnd

(knit every rnd) and an easy eyelet pattern. 2. The neck edge of the Cowl is shaped with decreases. COWL With longer circular needle, cast on 104 sts. Place marker for beg of rnd. Join by working the first st on the left hand needle with the working yarn from the right hand needle and being careful not to twist sts. SECTION I Work in St st in the rnd (knit every rnd), slipping marker as you come to it on each rnd, until Section I measures about 2 in. (5 cm) from beginning. SECTION II Rnd 1: Purl.
