Power of Society

2018-2019 Fair Ambassador MessageI was thrilled to be named Woodstock Fair Ambassador for the 2018-2019 year! From being extremely involved in high school to university, I was hoping to continue my involvement within the community! Supporting, promoting and planning for the Woodstock Agricultural Society has been nothing short of fun! Having the opportunity to interact with the community through these events and meeting new people is what has brought me the most joy of this experience and has proved to be where I am most in my element!  If you want to be actively involved in the community and promote the agricultural society and Woodstock, this is definitely something that I encourage both men and women to compete for! Junior Ambassador (14-17) and Senior (18-24). Not only have I had the opportunity to meet community members, but have also had the chance to get to know and share ideas with other ambassadors from different communities in our district! I hope to see many new faces participating in the ambassador program this coming year as we have a great fair weekend lined up and you could very well just be the face of it all!

“Good Old Tractor”By Ron Brown

I’m gonna’ climb on my tractor

There’s a lot of work to do,

I’m gonna’ head down to the barn

And out to the pasture too.

I’m gonna’ plow up the field

And feed the animals too,

I’m gonna’ climb up on my tractor

There’s work to do.

There’s a horse that needs some oats

And a cow that needs some hay,

And the chickens need corn

It’s a busy day today.

Without my good old tractor

I couldn’t get much done.

Working and driving my tractor

Is so much fun!

Homecraft Message

Welcome to the 183rd Annual Woodstock Fair! Wow, it is hard to believe the Woodstock Fair is right around the corner. The Fair Planning Committee has been working diligently to make this year’s fair a treat for everyone!

Our theme this year is “Trucks, Tractors and Treasures” and there will be plenty to see and do including lawn mower races, demolition derby, children’s play area, poultry barn, hay bale competition, cattle shows, horse shows, touch a truck, Old MacDonald’s Barn, 4-H Competitions, Campbell’s Midway, movies and much more. Brent and Sarah will be back again this year with a brand new show. Follow our Facebook page for our countdown to the fair as well as updates during the fair week.

Enjoy a variety of entertainment in the Oxford Auditorium including the best tasting pie contest and new this year the best decorated cake contest and auctions. Don’t forget our pet show, home craft displays, Rise to Fame, 4-H displays and the Horticultural and Floral Design Show.Stop by our Oxford Auditorium Kitchen to enjoy the many oerings for lunch or dinner.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all of the volunteers, exhibitors and sponsors whose continued support makes this event possible.

Enjoy the treasures of this year’s fair!Karen Trick,
