MATERIALCHARAKTERISIERUNGFÜR ENERGIESPEICHERSYTEME
Ziel
Schwerpunkte sind die Untersuchungen
von Elektrodenmaterialien und prozes-
sierten Elektroden in Hinblick auf ihre struk-
turellen Eigenschaften.
Methodik
Die Charakterisierung erfolgt über eine Reihe
von elektrochemischen Standardmethoden
(OCV-Messung, Cyclovoltammetrie, elek-
trochemische Impedanzspektroskopie,
Pulsmethoden). Auf diesem Weg sind eine
Reihe von Kenngrößen einer Zelle zugäng-
lich, wie Zellspannung, Zyklenstabilität und
Kapazität, aber auch Innenwiderstand und
Diffusionsverhalten. Die Messungen kön-
nen sowohl in batterieähnlichen Messzellen
als auch in 3-Elektroden-Anordnung durch-
geführt werden.
Ergänzend zur klassischen Elektrochemie
stehen schwingungsspektroskopische
Untersuchungsmethoden (Raman-, FT-
Infrarotspektrometrie) zur Verfügung.
Damit ist es möglich, die strukturellen Än-
derungen im Elektrodenmaterial während
des Lade-Entladevorgangs zu verfolgen.
Zusätzlich werden mittels Mikrokapillarzel-
lentechnik einzelne Aktivmaterialpartikel
auf ihre Eigenschaften untersucht werden.

MATERIALS CHARACTERIZATIONFOR ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS
Aim
Our work focuses on the characterization
of electrode materials and processed elec-
trodes for use in advanced energy storage
systems. To achieve this, information re-
garding the structural properties of poten-
tial materials is researched.
Methods
Various electrochemical standard methods
are used for characterization including
OCV, cyclovoltammetry, electrochemical im-
pedance spectroscopy and pulse methods.
As a result, the entire range of cell parame-
ters is determined. These parameters in-
clude cell voltage, reversible capacity and
cycle stability. Furthermore, information
about material characteristics such as inter-
nal resistances or diffusion behavior is also
determined. Battery type and 3 electrode
cells are used to carry out experiments.
In addition to standard electrochemical
methods, infrared and Raman spectroscopy
are used during charging/discharging cycles
to detect structural changes of the elec-
trode materials. Electrochemical microcapil-
lary devices provide even more information
about the active material through analysis
of discrete particle electrochemical behav-
ior.
