the clear advantage. Our gyro-stabilized binocular removes up to 98% of image motion caused by hand or

Getting Started
1. Slideplainendofwebbingstrap(1)througheyepiecestraphook(2).
NOTE:Handstrapmaybeinstalledonoppositesideofthebinocularforaleft-handeduser.
2. Withexteriorsideofpadfacingbinocular,lacewebbingstrapthroughhandpad(3).
Insertwebbingstrapunderobjectivelensstraphookandpullwebbingstrapthroughstraphook.
Webbingstrapshouldnotbepulledtightagainstbinocular.Laceendofwebbingstrapsecurely
throughfastener(4).Withwebbingstrapinsidehandpad,fastenVelcroclosure.
3. Usingfastenersonwebbingstrap(5),adjustneckstraplengthsobinocularhangshalfway
betweenshouldersandwaist.WARNING:Theneckstrapofthebinocularmaybecometangled
duringanemergency.Tofacilitatequickremoval,theneckstrapincorporatesaquickdisconnect
feature(6)activatedbyapullreleasesystem(7).
4. Openbatterycover(8)onthefrontofthestabilizedbinocular.Inserttwonewbatteriesinthe
orientationindicatedoninsideofbatterycoverandreplacethebatterycover.
5. Turnthecontrolknob(9)toAUTO.Allowthemotortorunforapproximately30secondsto
gettofullspeed.
6. TurnthecontrolknobtoLOCK.

drivenelectricallybyasmallmotor,poweredbytwoAAbatteriesorexternalpower,intherange
of6to30VDC.TheVehiclePowerCordadapterprovidesexternalpowerbyconnectingtheunit
tothevehiclecigarettelighter.
1. EYEPIECE.Twodetachablepiecesusedtolookthroughbinocular.Theseadjustforindividual
diopter(focus)andeyespacing.
2. EYECUP.Rubberendoneyepiece.Foldsbackforviewingwitheyeglasses.
3. OBJECTIVELENS.Locatedoneachsideofbatterybox.
4. OBJECTIVELENSCAP.Coversforprotectionofobjectivelenswhenstabilizedbinocular
isnotinuse.
5. EYEPIECELENSCAP.Coverforprotectionofeyepiecelenseswhenstabilizedbinocular
isnotinuse.
6. NECKSTRAP.Allowsusertocarrybinoculararoundneck.
7. HANDSTRAP.Adjustabletoallowforeasyoperationwithonehand.
8. BATTERYBOX.HousestwoAAbatteriesrequiredtosupplypowertouse

Using Your Mariner Series Binocular
Touseyourbinocular,turnthepowertotheONpositionontheControlKnob(1).Waitapproximately
30secondsforthegyrotoreachfullspeed.Toactivategyro-stabilization,returnthepowerswitchto
theLOCKposition.StabilizationwillremainactiveuntilthepowerswitchisreturnedtotheONposition.
To Focus Your Binocular
1. SettheInterpupillaryAdjustmentbyholdingtheeyepieces(2and3)andmanuallymovingthem
towardthecenteroroutward,toaccommodatethespacingofyoureyes.
2. Nofurthereyespacingadjustmentsshouldbeneededduringuseofthedeviceandthe
notedsettingsmaybeusedforfutureinitialization.
3. Removetherightlenscap(4),leavingtheleftoneon.
4. Usingtherighteye,viewthroughtherighteyepiece(2)atadistanttarget.
Slowlyrotatetherighteyepieceuntilthetargetisbroughtintosharpfocus.
5. Replacetherightlenscapandremovetheleftone(5).
6. Usingthelefteye,viewthroughthelefteyepiece(3)atthesamedistanttarget.Slowlyrotate
thelefteyepieceuntilthetargetisbroughtintosharpfocus.
7. Removetherightlenscap.Thestabilizedbinocularisnowfocusedforyoureyes.
NOTE:Rotatingtheeyepiecefurtherthannecessaryintheclockwisedirectioncouldreducethe
depthoffieldthatcanbeachievedwithoutrefocusing.

Cleaning Procedures
To clean the lenses:
• UsingFraserOpticsretractablebrush,removeasmuchdustanddirtaspossiblefromthe
exposedlenssurface.
• Brushacrossthesurfacewithlight,quickstrokes,flickingaftereachstroketodislodgethedust.
• Whenallvisibleparticlesofdustanddirthavebeenremoved,useFraserOpticslenscleaning
solutionorpre-moistenedcleaningclothsandgentlywipeoverthesurface.
NOTE:Microcleaningkitsuppliedwithstandardmodeldoesnotcontaintheaboveitems.
TheAdvancedkitsoldseparatelydoescontaintheitemsreferenced.
CAUTION:Neverwipedryordirtylenseswithadrycloth.Cleantheexteriorofthebinocular(notthe
lenses)withacleanFraserOpticsmicrofibercloth.Removegreaseandsoilwithsoapandwaterand
adampcleancloth.Drywithaclean,lintfreecloth.Blowdirtandlintfromcaseinteriors.

byFraserOptics.Openingbinocular,orattemptinganyrepairbeyondthatwhichisoutlined
inthismanual,mayvoidwarrantyand/orcausedamageto,ordegradeperformance.If,after
troubleshooting,therearedeficienciesthatcannotbecorrected,pleasereturntothemanufacturer.
