Cooking Matters is a nonprofit offering its free 5-week program for up to 16 parents (one per household). The

five classes will be taking place Thursday, Nov 15, (not meeting on Nov 22), Nov 29, Dec 6, Dec 13 and Dec 20

from 5:30 7:30 PM at the Franklin Senior Center. We will discuss healthy eating habits, food budgeting, and

learn basic cooking techniques. Approximately one-half of the class focuses on basic nutrition messages, while

the other half is spent preparing recipes that reflect the days nutrition messages.

This is NOT a drop-in program participants must commit to attend all five weeks. Each course participant

receives the course curriculum, the days recipes, and a bag of groceries containing the ingredients to make

    the dish at home.

This exciting program is being run through the Franklin YMCA and if you are interested you need to sign up at

the Franklin Food Pantry. Enrollment is very limited and will be filled by first come, first served. You will need

to provide your name, phone number and/or email in the event we need to contact you. Please let us if

childcare, transportation or both are necessary for you to participate as we can provide both of these if

    needed.
