    Frankfort Elberta Area Schools 1.01 DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

    A. Contractors shall propose systems and/or components to be deployed using standard procedures and technology components and as specified herein. The system components shall be installed and connected to the owner’s existing physical infrastructure and as specified herein. Contractor shall be responsible for a fully functional and operational system. No components, cables or connections shall be provided by Owner for the system unless specifically identified herein.

    B. Contractor shall provide all transportation and delivery services in a timely manner to individual work location(s) at each site of work in preparation for installation activity.

    1.02 WARRANTY

    A. Installation shall be free from defect and/or failure for a period of three (3) years. Any replacement, upgrade or fix, including labor for any non-conforming or non-operational component of the system shall be updated fixed and/or replaced at no cost to the Owner during the warranty period.

    1.03 CONTRACTOR

    A. The Contractor shall accept complete responsibility for the full installation, certification and support of the system and/or components as required. Contractor shall be an authorized vendor of all major components.

    B. The Contractor shall have a proven track record in comparable system supply, configuration and installation.

    1.04 AV EQUIPMENT – Frankfort Elberta Middle School Gym

    A. MOTORIZED SCREEN

    1. One (1) motorized screen shall be provided and installed.

    2. Acceptable Manufacturers:

    a. Da Lite

    1. Large Cosmopolitan Electrol

    b. Draper

    3. Screen shall meet or exceed the following specifications:

    a. 16:10 Ratio

    b. 117 1/2 “ x 188”

    c. All parts and accessories to allow RS-232 control from supplied Multimedia Control System.

    d. Contractor shall install screen according to manufacturer approved installation methods for a secure, fully functional and compliant system.

    e. Contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary cabling and accessories to connect motorized screen to provided multimedia control system.

    f. Contractor will work in coordination with Owner provided electrician.

    B. LASER PROJECTOR

    1. One (1) ceiling mounted laser projector with accompanying mounting materials and protective cage shall be provided and installed.

    2. Acceptable Manufactures:

    a. Epson

    1. Pro L1300U

    b. Panasonic

    3. Projectors shall meet or exceed the following specifications:

    a. 8,000 Lumens

    b. Projector shall be provided with appropriate lens for an approximate 100’ throw to fill a 188” wide front projection system with a 16:10 ratio projected image.

    c. Projector shall be securely installed and affixed to mounting bracket that is structurally attached back wall of gymnasium as identified in supplied diagrams.

    d. Projector shall be connected to Crestron control system to receive transmission of HDBaseT communication controls and as specified herein. Such HDBaseT cable shall be fully compliant shielded cable meeting or exceeding all related standards.

    e. Contractor shall provide bracket and wall mount to securely mount projector to wall identified on the provided diagrams. Projector shall be installed in a protective security cage.

    1. Chief – PG3AW or Equal.

    C. WALL MOUNT EQUIPMENT RACK

    1. One (1) equipment rack shall be provided and installed.

    D. SURFACE METAL RACEWAY

    1. Surface Metal Raceway shall be provided for remote input location, projector and screen locations.

    2. Acceptable Manufacturer:

    a. WIREMOLD by Legrand

    1. 3000 Series – Ivory

    b. Or equal

    3. Provide manufacturer’s data sheets and descriptive literature for each product to be used including:

    a. Preparation instructions and recommendations

    b. Installation methods

    4. Raceway shall extend down from ceiling structure and then down the wall to final locations.

    5. Appropriate nylon or rubber bushings and/or cable guards shall be installed on all raw metal edges that media may be in contact with.

    6. Raceway shall be mounted to match the height of existing power receptacles in the room (generally 16” AFF) where applicable.

    7. Where depth is not adequate for the intended use, box extensions shall be added prior to installation of cabling and faceplate.

    8. Raceway installation shall strictly comply with manufacture’s installation instructions and recommendations and approved shop drawings.

    9. Coordinate installation with adjacent work to ensure proper clearances and to prevent electrical hazards.

    10. Raceway systems shall be mechanically continuous and connected to all electrical outlets, boxes, device mounting brackets, and cabinets, in accordance with manufacturer’s installation sheets.

    11. Metal raceway shall be electrically continuous and bonded in accordance with the National Electric Code for proper grounding.

    12. Raceway shall be supported at intervals not exceeding 5 feet or in accordance with manufacturer’s installation sheets.

    13. Contractor shall provide accessories as required for a complete installation, including insulated bushings and inserts where required by manufacturer.

    14. Close unused raceway openings using manufacturer's recommended accessories.

    15. Color shall be standard neutral color to minimize visual impact in spaces. Coordinate final color of raceway with Owner prior to any final installation activity.

    16. Raceway installation will need to be coordinated with gym construction and should be installed before the gym is painted. Selected Contractor should plan on installing raceway prior to this happening but before electronic equipment is installed.

    E. MULTIMEDIA CONTROL SYSTEM

    1. One (1) control system shall be provided and installed.

    a. CRESTRON

    1. DMPS3-4K-150-C

    b. Contractor shall supply all parts, cables and accessories to securely mount unit in provided cabinet.

    c. Contractor shall provide all control, communication, audio and video patch cables, Crestron DM transmitters and receivers to connect input and output ports to all Contractor provided materials.

    d. Contractor shall program Multimedia Control System to integrate with provided powered roll-up screen. Contractor shall supply all necessary cabling and programming to fully enable integration with control system.

    e. Contractor shall provide all system programming and operation software for a fully functional and operational system. All programming and/or configuration

    activity shall be completely coordinated and approved by Owner and/or Designer prior to initiation of final installation activity.

    f. Contractor shall configure control system to be operated remotely using Owner provided iPad. Contractor shall include all licensing, materials and labor for a fully functional system.

    2. One (1) remote multimedia input location(s) shall be provided in addition to one (1) input location inside provided rack.

    a. CRESTRON

    1. DM-TX-4K-100-C-1G, each with any relevant companion units to be installed as described herein.

    b. Below screen location shall be installed into Contractor provided extra deep metallic double gang box, contractor shall supply and install stainless steel plate to integrate HDMI extension equipment and Contractor supplied 3.5mm connection for a fully finished installation.

    c. Contractor shall supply labor to integrate Owner supplied AppleTV to multimedia control system.

    d. Contractor shall supply all programming and licensing necessary to integrate and control multimedia control system with Owner provided iPad.

    3. One (1) button pad control system shall be provided and installed.

    a. CRESTRON

    1. CNX-B12

    b. Button Pad(s) shall be provided to control system operations from back location unit shall meet or exceed the following:

    c. Connect button pads to Controller as per manufacturer installation instructions.

    d. Button pad will be installed in or on Contractor provided rack.

    e. Program controller to automate the following functions with the single press of the buttons as follows:

    1. System Power On

    2. System Power Off

    3. Source Select Front

    4. Source Select Rack

    5. Source Select Apple TV

    F. VOICE AMPLIFICATION SYSTEM

    1. One (1) voice amplifications system shall be provided and installed.

    2. SHURE

    a. SLX124/85/SM58

    3. Wireless Handheld and Lavalier Microphone including body pack transmitter.

    4. Contractor shall provide and install any necessary external antennas and cabling to enable wireless coverage for the entire 100x100’ gymnasium.

    G. MIXER SYSTEM

    1. One (1) mixer system shall be provided and installed.

    2. JBL

    a. CSM28

    3. Contractor shall supply all parts, cables and accessories to securely mount unit in provided cabinet.

    4. Contractor shall provide all audio cables and accessories to integrate mixer with the following inputs: audio from Multimedia Control System, CD Player, Voice Amplification System, 3.5mm Connection from under screen input location and hardwired Owner provided microphone.

    5. Contractor shall provide all system programming and operation software for a fully functional and operational system. All programming and/or configuration activity shall be completely coordinated and approved by Owner and/or Designer prior to initiation of final installation activity.

    H. AMPLIFIER

    1. One (1) amplifier shall be provided and installed.

    3. Contractor shall supply all parts, cables and accessories to securely mount unit in provided cabinet.

    4. Contractor shall provide all audio cables and accessories to integrate Amplifier with provided Mixer System and existing speakers.

    5. Contractor shall integrate Amplifier with four (4) existing EV speakers. If cabinet is able to be moved to closet adjacent to the current rack, the speaker cabling shall be moved to new cabinet location.

    6. Existing speaker cabling can be reused but will need to be reworked and extended into new rack location. Contractor shall all labor and materials to extend, rework and test cables for a fully functional system.

    7. Contractor shall provide all system programming and operation software for a fully functional and operational system. All programming and/or configuration activity shall be completely coordinated and approved by Owner and/or Designer prior to initiation of final installation activity.

    I. CD PLAYER

    1. One (1) CD player shall be provided and installed.

    2. TASCAM

    a. CD-200BT

    3. Contractor shall supply all parts, cables and accessories to securely mount unit in provided cabinet.

    4. Contractor shall provide all audio cables and accessories to integrate CD Player with provided Mixer System.

    5. Contractor shall provide all system programming and operation software for a fully functional and operational system. All programming and/or configuration activity shall be completely coordinated and approved by Owner and/or Designer prior to initiation of final installation activity.

    1.05 AV EQUIPMENT – Frankfort Elberta High School Band Room

    A. AUDIO SPEAKERS – SURFACE MOUNT

    1. Four (4) surface mount audio speakers shall be provided and installed using manufacturer recommended hardware and installation methods.

    1. One (1) multimedia sound amplification system shall be provided and installed.

    2. Multimedia amplifier shall provide a minimum of three (3) discrete inputs.

    3. Multimedia amplifier shall provide level adjustment control for each supplied input.

    4. Amplifier must provide a minimum of 40 watts of power (20w per channel)

    5. Contractor shall provide one (1), eight (8) foot audio patch cables to connect input puts on amplifier to 3.5 mm jack accessible at user desktop.

    6. Contractor shall provide one (1), three (3) foot audio patch cable for connectivity from audio output of video switcher to amplifier.

    C. VIDEO SWITCHER

    1. One (1) video switcher shall be provided and installed.

    a. ATLONA

    2. Contractor will neatly and securely install the switcher and supplied amplifier at teacher input location.

    D. MULTIMEDIA INFRASTRUCTURE CABLE

    1. One (1) multimedia infrastructure system shall be provided and installed.

    2. Infrastructure cable to connect projector to a teacher station wall plate shall be provided.

    a. Cables:

    1. HD Base-T Shielded digital video cable shall be provided, installed and terminated in provided faceplate with a shielded female connector.

    2. Speaker cable shall be provided, installed and terminated in plate with female Speakon connector.

    3. Contractor shall integrate cable into existing in wall low voltage pathway and box.

    4. Wall plate provided shall be constructed of commercial grade stainless steel.

    5. Wall plate shall contain connection points for all specified cables.

    6. Unpopulated data connections shall all have blank covers installed.

    E. MULTIMEDIA CONNECTION CABLE BUNDLES

    1. One (1) Fully assembled infrastructure cable bundle shall be provided for final connection to components and classroom plate by others.

    2. Cables:

    a. HD Base-T Shielded Category 6 patch cables (M/M)

    b. Audio Speaker (L/R) with Speakon Female to bare cable for connection to screw terminals on amplifier.

    3. Cable bundle shall be secured with a single F6 Woven wrap-around braided sleeving.

    4. All cables shall be fifteen (15) feet in length.

    1.06 AV EQUIPMENT – Frankfort Elberta Elementary Gym

    A. WALL MOUNT EQUIPMENT RACK

    1. One (1) equipment rack shall be provided and installed.

    8. Two (2) remote multimedia input location(s) shall be provided in addition to one (1) input location inside provided rack.

    a. CRESTRON

    1.07 ALLOWANCES

    A. Contractor shall include allowances for equipment and/or other contract service reimbursements as required below in base bid lump sum amount(s). Equipment and/or contract services shall be provided and sourced at Owner’s discretion and convenience with full cooperation by Contractor and paid for from successful bidder’s contract in the amount(s) provided for herein. Any allowance amount proving to be excessive for the intended equipment and/or contract services shall be credited to the Owner against contract payment requests.

    1. Allowance shall be made in the amount of $5,000.00 for contract services related to Owner directed audio system upgrades for Frankfort Elberta Elementary Gym.

    2. Allowance shall be made in the amount of $1,500.00 for contract services related to Owner directed network cabling and infrastructure upgrades.

    1.08 SCHEDULE, MEETINGS AND PLANS

    A. Schedule

    1. Final Vendor Presentations: Week of February 26, 2019

    2. Contractor Chosen: Week of March 12, 2019

    3. Work Commences: Week of May 1, 2019

    4. Substantial Completion: August 1, 2019

    5. Project Close-out: August 31, 2019

    B. Planned sequence of operations shall be established by the Contractor within the guidelines established by the Owner, as required herein and as required to meet schedules.

    C. All work shall be coordinated with Owner’s construction manager on site.

    D. Project progress meetings shall be held, but not limited to, weekly at a site and time identified as convenient for Owner and as required herein. Meetings will be attended as required herein.
