The Compact Disc Digital Audio System offers the best possible sound reproduction - on a small, convenient disc. Its remarkable performance is the result of a unique combination of digital storage and laser optics.

For best results, you should apply the same care in storing and handling the Compact Disc as you would with conventional records. No cleaning is necessary if the Compact Disc is always held by its edges and is replaced in its case directly after playing. If the Compact Disc becomes soiled by fingerprints, dust or dirt, it can be wiped (always in a straight line, from center to edge) with a clean and lint-free, soft, dry cloth. Never use a solvent or abrasive cleaner to clean the disc. If you follow these suggestions, the Compact Disc will provide a lifetime of listening enjoyment.

2274-2 NOTES

Containing twelve classic performances from the Chairman of the Board, Frank Sinatra's Greatest Hits features some of the legendary entertainer's most popular songs and spans one of the most creative periods in his career. Including the No. 1 hits "Strangers In The Night" and "Somethin' Stupid," the collection also highlights such mid-'60s successes as "Softly As I Leave You" and "It Was A Very Good Year."

"Strangers In The Night," among Sinatra's biggest all-time hits, reached No. 1 on the charts in May of 1966. Recorded for the soundtrack to the film A Man Could Get Killed, the song was penned by the legendary composer Burt Kaempfert and went on to earn four Grammies including Record Of The Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. It was followed by another smash, the Sinatra trademark "That's Life." Between these two giant hits a third song, "Summer Wind," kept the singer on the charts, while "The World We Knew (Over and Over)" was the Top 30 follow-up to "That's Life."

Sinatra's impact on the music of the era can also be heard on such perennials as the abovementioned "Softly As I Leave You," "It Was A Very GoodYear" and "Somewhere In Your Heart," all chart items from 1964-66.

In early 1967 Ol' Blue Eyes was back in the No. 1 slot, this time with daughter Nancy and the hit "Somethin' Stupid." Written by Lee Hazelwood (who would later pen Nancy's solo smash "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'"), the tune topped the charts for five straight weeb. Hazelwood would also write "This Town," the theme from the film The Cool Ones and another hit for Nancy's dad.

Frank Sinatra's Greatest Hits, produced by Jimmy Bowen and Sonny Burke, additionally features such vintage Sinatra cuts as "Forget Domani," "Tell Her (You Love Her Each Day)" and a memorable rendition of "When Somebody Loves You."
