    BOTANICAL ART & ILLUSTRATION PROGRAM

    Framing Botanical Art Winter/Spring 2011

Instructor: Susan Rubin (email: [email protected] )

Note: An $8.00 prep and accessory materials fee will be requested at first class. I will supplyall archival mats, backing, tape, hinges, tools, and incidental framing materials.

In addition to discussion, handouts, and demonstration, you will actually frame a small pieceof your work in this workshop.

Small botanical (or other) piece to frame.

Artwork in any medium is fine as long as the image will fit comfortably into a 5 X 7 matopening. The paper size must be larger than the 5 X 7 opening. If you are in doubt, bring acouple of options. Consider a classroom exercise, a little piece tucked away in a file, or ANY5 X 7 artwork.

Picture Frame: 8 X 10 frame. This describes the opening, not the outside dimensions ofthe frame.

Choose a frame that complements your artwork. Please, wooden frames only (any finish),no metal or plastic. Avoid the frames with an easel-back. We will discuss future framingchoices in depth during the class.

Glass: 8 X 10 to fit your frame
