    Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra presents the

    BSI Monaco Music MastersBY GILLY LLOYD FOR FR2DAY.COM OCT 15, 2010

    BSI Monaco Music Masters is the title of the MCPO concert on 24th

    October. It features works by Beethhoven, Smetana and Josef Suk- Beethoven's Triple Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano in C

    Major, Op 56, Smetana's Ma Vlast, and Suk's Pohdka.With worksby two Czech composers on the bill, it's no surprise that theorchestra will be led by a Czech conductor, Zdenk Mcal.

    Following an early appointment as principal

    conductor of the Prague Symphony

    Orchestra, Zdenk Mcal made hisAmerican debut with the Chicago

    Symphony Orchestra, and latter

    achievements included appointments with

    the San Antonio Symphony, the

    Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the

    Sydney Symphony and the Czech

    Philharmonic.

    The soloists in this performance of the Triple Concerto are violinist Yuzuko

    Horigome, cellist David Geringas and pianist Jean-Bernard Pommier. Japanese

    pianist, Yuzuko Horigome, has appeared with some of the world's most illustrious

    orchestras and conductors - Abbado, Previn, Ozawa, Tilson Thomas and Sir

    Simon Rattle amongst them. She has recorded Sibelius and Mendelssohn with the

    Amsterdam Concertgebouw under the baton of Ivan Fisher, and the Bruch Violin

    Concerto No 1 with the Royal Philharmonic under Yuri Simonov.
