In today’s gospel, Jesus addressed the ques�on of
divorce. He acknowledges that divorce is legally possible
under Old Testament’s laws (or the Mosaic law) while
saying that it is not desirable and is not the will of God.
Va�can: September 8, 2015. In his le,er, Mi�s Iudex
Dominus Iesus — or “The Lord Jesus, Clement Judge”—
Pope Francis announced new changes for the annulment
process. In other words, Pope Francis wants to speed up
and streamline the process for Catholics who divorce and
want to remarry in the Church. (The new changes are ex-
pected to take effect on December 8, 2015, the beginning
of the Year of Mercy.)
While he reaffirms the indissolubility of marriage, Pope
Francis is changing the church to be more open and inclu-
sive . The Pope wants all people to be in a rela�onship
with God and be part of the Church’s life.
Let us pray for all families, married couples, for a
life-long of love and laughter, and faith.

diciendo que no es deseable y no es la voluntad de Dios.
El Va�cano: 8 de Sep�embre del 2015. En su carta, Mi�s
Iudex Dominus Iesus— o “Jesús, Señor y Juez de la
Clemencia” — El Papa Francisso anunció nuevos cambios
para el proceso de anulación. En otras palabras, el Papa
Francisco quiere acelerar y agilizar el proceso para los
católicos que se divorcian y quieren volver a casarse por la
Iglesia. Se espera que los cambios serán efec�vos el 8 de
diciembre del 2015, el comienzo del Año de Misericordia.)
Mientras que reafirma la indisolubilidad del matrimonio,
el Papa Francisco trata de cambiar la iglesia para que sea
más abierta e inclusiva. El Papa quiere que toda la gente
este en una relación con Dios y que sean parte de la vida
de la iglesia.

St. Thomas More Woman’s ACTS Ministry Team Fundraiser
STM Woman’s ACTS Ministry Team will be hosting a Garage Sale on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the Old Gym from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. The pro-ceeds of this Garage Sale will be used to offset expenses occurred for the upcoming 2016 STM Woman’s ACT Retreat. The Retreat is scheduled for January 14 - 17, 2016, located at Mother of Perpetual Help Retreat Center, Houston, Texas.

MISSION CALL TO PHARMACISTS: The medical mission team is in great need of a couple of pharmacists to serve during our mission week October 23 -31, 2015. The role of the pharmacist is critical to insuring the safety and quality of the prescriptions dispensed and as a consult with the doctors. The annual ”40 Days for Life” con�nues through Nov. 1.
St. Thomas More is not par�cipa�ng as a group, but all are
encouraged to come and pray at any �me, Monday through
Friday, 6:30am-6:30pm & Saturday,6:30am-3pm. This takes
place outside Planned Parenthood at 4600 Gulf Freeway.
Diaper Drive Hi, my name is Taralynn Mack. I graduated from St. Thomas More in 2012, and I am currently a senior at Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart. Right now I am working to earn my Gold Award in Girl Scouts, and I could really use your help! As you may know, October is Respect Life Month and I’m teaming up with the Gabriel Project to help with their Diaper Drive beginning October 3rd through October 11th. We will be collecting diapers (sizes newborn, 1, 4, 5, and 6 in particular), wipes, travel-size toiletries, and plastic baby bottles to include in diaper bags for new moms. Although material goods are important, the most help is given through prayers and support. I am also compiling a collection of prayers, inspirational quotes, and new parent advice to include in each diaper bag.

Mary Heard has been a teacher at
STM for 15 years. She has a
Bachelor of Science in Criminal
Justice from Sam Houston State
University and a Masters in
Education from Houston Baptist University. Ms.
Heard is the youngest of 7 children. She has 3 daugh-
ters of her own, all STM alumni, and one grandson.
Her interests are theater, music, bike riding, travel, and
gardening. Ms. Heard states “I love teaching at STM
because it is like my family. My daughters went to
school here and were very prepared. I feel STM
prepares students for high school. I love teaching and I
love my STM students.”

Mary Heard ha trabajado como maestra en nuestra escuela de STM por 15 años. Recibió la Licenciatura en Ciencias en Justicia Penal de SHSU y su Maestría en Educación de HBU. Mary es la menor de siete hijos. Ella tiene tres hijas, todas alumnas de STM, y también un nieto. Entre sus intereses están: el teatro, la música, el ciclísmo, viajar y la jardinería. Nos relata: “Me encanta enseñar en STM porque siento como si fuera mi propia familia. Mis hijas aquí asistieron a la escuela y obutuvieron muy buena preparación. Pienso que STM prepara muy bien al estudiante para la secundaria. Me encanta enseñar y quiero mucho a mis estudiantes de STM.”
