JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of their portfolio and effective supervision of team members, providing leadership and utilizing a community development approach and ensuring that CARC provides a safe and welcoming environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise the staff team, providing leadership and ensuring effective functioning of the team Facilitate the creation of an empowering and supportive work environment that provides opportunities for personal growth, team building, and generation and sharing of ideas Monitor and provide support and direction through team meetings and regular individual scheduled supervision. Conduct annual staff evaluations using the approved process Perform any required progressive disciplinary action up to but excluding termination Act as team leader, including convening team meetings for the purpose of planning, developing, improving and evaluating approved programs and services Make recommendations in respect of program changes and new program development Ensure defined statistical targets, outputs, outcomes are met in accordance with contracts and goals Ensure that service statistics are collected and maintained in a manner that meets funder requirements Submit necessary program progress and evaluation reports to Executive Director as required Ensure timesheets and personnel documents are in order according to requirements, and provide necessary payroll information to the Executive Director Assist in the preparation of funding applications including program and statistical information QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Post-secondary degree /diploma in social /settlement services with at least three years experience as a staff supervisor or coordinator with supervisory duties including staff evaluations 2. At least one year experience writing proposals, reports, reporting to funders, budget monitoring 3. Demonstrated ability to use judgement to interpet and apply policies and procedures 4. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to set boundaries 5. Strong skills and experience in providing effective supervision and mentoring of staff, team buiding, and evaluation of staff and programs. 6.
