FPC@ITA: ADVANCED MANUFACTURING IN BRAZIL
With the launch of the Fraunhofer Project Center for Advanced
Manufacturing @ ITA (FPC@ITA), the long-term strategic coop-
eration between the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA)
in Brazil and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems
and Design Technology IPK in Germany is now officially sealed.
Fraunhofer IPK and the Competence Center for Manufactur-
ing (CCM) at ITA will jointly develop production technology
solutions for the benefit of industry in Brazil, including Bra-
zilian branches of German and European companies. The
research services of the new project center are based on the
process chain in industrial companies and include sustainable
innovations in the areas of corporate management, product
development, production systems as well as manufacturing
and automation technology. The complementary competen-
cies of the two research institutes allow the development and
prototypical implementation of complex system solutions for
digitally integrated production (DIP).
On the occasion of its inauguration, FPC@ITA invites specialists
from industry, science and public authorities to the first joint
Fraunhofer and ITA Conference on Industrie 4.0. Institutional
and technical presentations cover major trends in academic
research and industrial application, including Aerospace,
Automotive, Petrochemical and Metal-Mechanics as well as
government strategies and case studies.
