Dear brothers and sisters, We have celebrated with much faith and participation the feast of the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe on December 11-12, 2018, and certainly those massive events help us to prepare the imminent arrival of the Divine Child on the solemn Christmas Eve. Let us make the effort to immerse ourselves in that con-templation of the Mystery of Christmas. In a time before the prodigious arrival of technologies and navigation when stars were the means to guide navigators, pilgrims and merchants. That is why the Magi were guided by the stars to meet the Child God. The symbolism associated with The Light and the stars is an invitation, so that, when, our turn comes, we can be that light to illuminate the darkness, the darkness within our own beings, and also of the world now. The Virgin of Guadalupe wanted Juan Diego to be confirmed in the Faith. She wanted to dignify him as a member of a new nation that was emerging from the ashes of the disaster that the conquest had caused to the Aztecs in 1521. Here and now, we can also vow before Mary to meet Jesus again and overcome the temptations and dangers that can haunt us as an immigrant community, and as believers to unite in the celebration of Christmas in justice and peace for all. Queridos hermanos y hermanas:

Con mucha Fe y participación hemos celebrado la festi-vidad de la Virgen María de Guadalupe este 11-12 de Diciembre y ciertamente esos eventos masivos nos ayu-dan a preparar la inminente llegada del Divino Niño en la solemne Noche Buena, la cual preparamos con a No-venas y el aguinaldo.

Hagamos el esfuerzo de sumergirnos en esa contempla-ción del Misterio de la Navidad: en una época antes de la llegada prodigiosa de las tecnologías y la navegación las estrellas eran el medio para guiar navegantes, Peregrinos y comerciantes. Por eso los Reyes Magos fueron guiados por las Estrellas para ir al encuentro del Niño Dios.

La simbología asociada a La Luz y a las estrellas supone esa invitación para que a nuestro turno seamos esa luz para iluminar la oscuridad y las tinieblas de nuestras existencias y las del mundo actual. La Virgen de Guada-lupe quiso confirmar en la Fe a Juan Diego y dignificarlo como miembro de esa nueva nación que iba surgiendo de las cenizas del desastre que implicó para los Aztecas la Conquista en 1521. En el aquí y el ahora de nuestra comunidad podemos también regresar ante María para volver a encontrarnos con Jesús y vencer así las tentacio-nes y peligros que pueden asecharnos como Comunidad Inmigrante, y creyente para unirnos en esa celebración de la Navidad en justicia y en paz para todos.

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE Past Tuesday, December 11 and Wednesday, December 12, 2018 we honor Our Blessed Mother ad Our Lady of Guada-lupe. It was a beautiful celebration presided by Rev. Cesar Garcia. Thanks to everybody who participated making this a spiritual celebration and gathering for all.

CELEBRACIÓN EN HONOR A NTRA. SRA. DE GUADALUPE El pasado Martes 11 y Miércoles 12 de Diciembre tuvimos las hermosas celebraciones en Honor a Ntra. Sra. De Guada-lupe. La Misa fue presidida por Padre Cesar García. Gracias a todas las personas que participaron haciendo de esta, una celebración espiritual y de recogimiento.
