Weather Log
Science Homework
During Science class, students have been
learning about Earth’s weather. This week
we focused on the water cycle and weath-
er instruments. Next week, we will begin
to learn how to read and interpret weath-
er maps. In order for students to connect
what they are learning to the real world,
we are requiring them to watch the news,
use the internet, or listen to radio weath-
er reports and forecasts every day. They
will then complete a daily weather log be-
ginning on Monday, February 24. Students
will need to complete the log for the en-
tire week and return it on Friday. The
weather log will take the place of the
regular science homework for next week.
Look for this homework with the Reading
Log and Math review sheet!
Student Treasures Class Book
I sent an updated note home about our
class book on Monday. Because of all
of our snow days, the company has ex-
tended our publishing date to mid-
March. Many of you have already re-
turned the order form, but if you have
not, please do so. If you do wish to
purchase a book, you need to make
checks payable to Student Treasures
Publishing. Please turn in money and
order form by February 28th. This is
a new extended due date. Even if you
do not wish to purchase a book, please
mark no, sign and return the slip.
Thank You!
Thank you to all who sent
in supplies for the remain-
der of the school year. As
always we appreciate your
continued support of our
classrooms and Camargo
Elementary!
Valentine’s Day
Parties
Thank you to all that sent in items for our
Valentine’s Day parties. We had tons of fun
sharing our cards and eating healthy foods.
We have included a few pictures from the
party on the back of this newsletter.
Scholastic Book Orders
Scholastic Reading Club book orders were
sent home on Friday. There was a typo on
the note sent home with these orders—
they are due on Tuesday, February
25th. A coupon was attached to your
child’s order form—if you purchase $10 in
books, the coupon allows you to choose
$5 book for free! :) You can use these
coupons online or send them to me. If
you have any trouble with using the cou-
pon online, just send it to me with the
free book choice and I will try to take
care of it.
AR GOALS & Study Island
Students should be working toward
their third nine-weeks AR goal. En-
courage your child to read chapter
books for their reading log to earn
points toward their goal. The 3rd
nine weeks will end on March 28th
and this will be the last day for
students to meet their AR goal.
Also, students can be working on
Study Island reading, math, and sci-
ence topics to earn their blue ribbons.
